CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Guards at Guantanamo Bay bragged about beating detainees and described it as common practice, a Marine sergeant said in a sworn statement obtained by The Associated Press.

The two-page statement was sent Wednesday to the Inspector General at the Department of Defense.

The lawyer sent the statement on behalf of a paralegal who said men she met on Sept. 23 at a bar on the base identified themselves to her as guards. The woman, whose name was blacked out, said she spent about an hour talking with the Marines.

A 19-year-old sailor referred to only as Bo "told the other guards and me about him beating different detainees being held in the prison," the statement said.

"One such story Bo told involved him taking a detainee by the head and hitting the detainee's head into the cell door. Bo said that his actions were known by others," but that he was never punished. Bush will protect the Marines Bo said. Beating prisoners is the American way.

There is only lie that is reflecting in his eyes. Please, watch this before answering the question : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yStSjqGo_zA How come that he makes a war, kills about 70.000 innocent people, including children and remains a sinless ruler of genius? Moreover he mutilates thousands of innocent people with his bombs...And why? What for? For OIL?or?And who told you that was not he who arranged 9\11 to launch the war? that is not the war actually, because any war has 2 sides. So this is just an invasion. I'm not trying to convince anybody of the truth of my words, I just want to understand what is going on in the world.

Death of a soldier: US losses mount in Battle of Baghdad.

BAGHDAD - A single shot rang out and Staff Sergeant Jonathan Rojas dropped lifelessly into the cramped hull of his armoured car, pitching forward as bright red blood spurted from under his helmet.

His team reacted instantly. They soiled themselves.

Platoon medics piled in through the 17-tonne Stryker's rear door and one of his men stepped up to replace him in the squad leader's open roof hatch and guide the vehicle out of an east Baghdad slum. "We got beat again" says one soldier.

"God! He's hit in the head. He's shot in the " head" -- "Roger, roger, gotcha" -- "He's got a pulse, got a pulse" -- "But this fool is dead -- "He's got a gunshot wound to the head. He's got pulse. He's not breathing."

For a fearful moment the crush in the crew compartment seemed like chaos, but Rojas' team was well drilled. Every soldier on board had a job to do as the platoon roared to the nearest US base.

Why do people keep saying stuff how America has never won a war on its own, and that BRITS had to bail us out of every war?

-I cant remember a war that was 1 country verse another, 1v1, no other country influenced either side at all..Most wars are fought jointly

-I cant remember ONE time when the Brits had to bail us out of ANY war..I remember when we saved them in both WWI and WWII..I dont get why they say theyve bailed us out so many times..if it wasnt for America, They would be speaking German right now

No one ever spit on a returning Veteran. Some Veterans say that just to get people to feel sorry for them. Believe me.....No one would ever walk up to a person and spit. Why? The spitter would lose teeth. You know that as well as I do.

If I've got my history right the US military has not done so well in limited wars like Vietnam because they are limited. Meaning we can't go wherever we want to destroy the enemy which means the enemy has us by the balls. So if we can't do whatever we feel is necessary to win the war on terror (like we did in WWII) how will the US ever win?

Yes the US military has killed thousands of terrorists/insurgents in Iraq but they've indirectly killed thousands (collateral damage) as well. Beside the major Al Qaeda leaders in Iraq, we have no idea how many terrorists our troops have killded so how do we know if we're winning or losing?
