because men don't value marriage like they should....if they have no problem cheating on their wives....they shouldn't be married...I'm tired of hearing that "that's the way men were made" bs.....men have brains...they should use them.

It's not just men in the military that cheat on their wives. It happens all the time in the civilian world too. It's just that the military community is much smaller and close knit. Not only that, military wives do their share of cheating while the men are TDY or deployed.

It's also funny that your man comes home and talks to you about what others are doing. Usually, in most cases, the guys that talk about what everyone else are doing are just covering their own tracks. He's probably hoping that he throws your attention off and that nobody exposes what he's really been doing. I've been around long enough to see it happen more times then I can count.

"People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!"

It happens on both sides, and is always unfortunate, but it is more often the spouse that cheats on the soldier. I will tell you that joining the military doesn't always turn a cheater into faithful husband, and these guys would have cheated on their wives whether they were in the military or not. Within the miltary, we have programs to help soldiers stay faithful, but outside of Family Readiness Groups, no such thing exists for spouses left behind, and the non-military spouse is far more likely to cheat than the deployed soldier. I would tell your husband to hold his "buddies" accountable, have some integrity, and turn them in. I am always suspect if a soldier cannot keep a promise he makes to god, how can I expect him to keep the promises he made to the unit.

Why do military wives cheat when their husbands are deployed? Clearly some people shouldn't be married. Not all husbands cheat, nor do all wives and it isn't just a military thing. What about when someone goes out on a business trip and has a fling? Some people have no morals, no commitment.

When I was an MP, almost every time the various units would deploy to REFORGER or wherever, there would be an upsurge in "prowler" calls.

When the MP arrived, and searched for the "prowler," they would often be met at the door by a soldier's wife, wearing something filmy and sexy, asking the MP if he would like to come inside.

So, I wouldn't say that it's just the soldiers cheating, their honeys back home do their fair share as well.

The amount of cheating that goes on among military people is the same for people that are civilians. I have always been faithful to my wife, no matter what. I have been on three deployments. whether the scum-bag is in the military or a civilian, he is still a scum-bag if he cheats. The only difference in military and civilian, is that more people know about it in the military.

Newsflash for you sweetie. The guy that comes home and tells his wife about all the "other guys" who cheat on their wives, is the guiltiest one of the bunch. The first thing you need to do is go get tested for STD's and then have a long talk with your husband about all the things the "other guys" have been doing.

I guess the same reason the women cheat when they are either away or back home. They are people that just shouldn't be married in the first place, in my opinion.

To whoever gave me a thumbs down: I can tell you some stories from Ft Hood, TX when 1st Cav and 2AD where away in Iraq in 1990, about the hundreds of women that found themselves "temporarily single". I was pretty much disgusted. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that either side is right, they're not, but it sure as hell works both ways.

First of all you have to candider how young most of these men are. Barely outa high school. The majority haven't finished sowing their seeds, and they find themselves miles away from there high school sweetheart, in some strange country, surrounded by exotic (and cheap) women. They don't all cheat. But I have to believe the kind of men who will cheat on their wives while away, would cheat regardless of where they are, be it at home, or in another country. Honey, it's not just a military thing...

Because they feel they are exempt to all the rules. The sanctity of marriage does not apply to them so they feel. They feel that they are not like the average civilian so they dont have to have morals. They feel it is their God given right. They feel that they get to live by a whole different set of rules. When in reality they should have higher morals since those who really love them will be the ones to be there for them when they come back home with PTSD and dont know their butt from a whole in the ground.
