I am a "Proud-Vietnam-Veteran". I am "Sick-And-Tired" of the "Belly-Aching" now being cried out by our veterans now days. My Brother "Rocky" dies in my arms after stepping on a land-mine on the "Ho-Chi-Min" trail in "68". I took 2 rounds from an enemy AK-47 in the chest trying to carry what was left of him to the rear. Spent 8 months as a P.O.W. after "Hanoi" did their best to keep me alive as a "Propaganda-Tool". I was liberated in the beginning of "69", and still did another tour. And I was not your ordinary "Grunt", I was "Special-Forces" the Armies Elite, Best of the Best. All this being said, why do modern soldiers cry-out when they see someone killed, take another humans life, Suffer a "Minor-wound" For Gods sake people, Men actualy do "Die" in Wars. It's not a poker-game going on over seas as the liberals would think. It's a god-damned place where people die, plain and simple. A small note of closing for our vets. SUCK-IT-UP-TROOP! Behave as you were trained, AN AMERICAN!

I just know it is almost impossible for Republican Representatives to stand up to power. In fact they almost never stand up for anything, they do however bend their integrety into a pritzel if necessary to maintain power.
So I am praying for this one time that the Republicans who are fighting on principle will hang in there and force Bush to face the truth and the rewards of twisting a Constitutional principle of the highest sort. American must not continue torturing people.
I know a lot of it started in Vietnam, but it has to stop or we as a Nation will certainly kill our own soul and destroy our Constitution.

Earlier today, my mom told me about a kid who could not make it to her college class to finish a project they were working on (no napoleon dynamite jokes about 'your mom going to college', please keep it serious). She told me this kid, who had been in the military and finished his term, was called back in to go to Iraq. Now, my mom and dad always have this argument on whether it's considered a "draft." The mom thinks it is, the dad thinks it isn't. And keep in mind, this isn't the only one who's been called back, there are thousands, and it was against their will (since they left the military). Who do you think is right?

I told him all about this bs war and how he'd die for nothing but rich conservative a$$holes if he went to Iraq and his girlfriend would be devestatd if he died. He was going to leave next week and cancelled everything. He said he's glad to have a friend like me that knows politics.

My husband came home from deployment on friday. He brought home a friend *on the first day*. The next day, he had duty, but he says "come on down, we'll spend the day together, I'll show the girls around the ship". After an hour and a half drive (bad traffic), half an hour searching for a parking spot, and half an hour of waiting for him to come to the gate to sign us in, he tells me "Well, you can't come on, the guys want to hang out in the shop and they've got gastro, but you can go run these errends, not for me but for the guys, then you can go home" (I am paraphrasing, of course). They left again today for a "family day cruise" which we couldn't go on because the girls aren't 8 yet. But I have to prepare a large meal because he's bringing a bunch of people over this evening.

I'm upset. Am I overreacting?

I'm retired Dept of Defense and I see and hear what goes on behind the scenes. On camera the people at the DOD say "We will win, We will endure, We are building a new country with freedom". Off camera they say " What a mess we are in, We aren't making headway, We thought this war would be easy as far as wars go, We are going to end up losing like Vietnam". So there you have it people. The troops are dying for nothing. The Insurgents don't plan on winning they will just wear us down until we pull out just like Vietnam. What are all of you fine people here going to do about it?
