the only people who support the war are those who don't realize it is not doing any good. iraq and afghanistan will never have a democracy and it is pointless trying to kill every last one of the people who very much oppose our presence there. we are actually creating more terrorists and haters of the U.S. every single day. this is also why our country, as a matter of fact, is not as safe as it was directly after 9/11 (even though Bush says the opposite). it is causing a deeper hole in our deficit every day too. nothing is being accomplished, and nothing will. Bush is too stubborn to admit this because he wants to stay in there to support his interests, the oil companies such as Halliburton. meanwhile, pointlessly, young lives of our country are being wasted. it's so sad...

war on terror was needed we had to fight and will have to for a long time.
Iraq was a big mess up. you finish one fight at a time.
what bush has done has put the USA in a place were we are stuck for ever. politics can not fight a war. military can but they should be able to use all the power they need to get the job done. what we need to do start on securing the borders then work are way in.
after the fight in one area is done. every aid group should come in help make schools, hospitals and rebuild using western laws to govern. taking religion out government. opening up Iraq as the USA in the medal east.

I'm against the war, too. Too many civilians and about 3,000 of our solders died needlessly in this illicit war for black Iraqi gold (I meant oil). People here and around the world were against this whole mess that Bush has created! The President doesn't give a rat's behind about it. And the illicit war has since turned into a full-scale Vietnamesque quagmire. The daily news reports of American soldiers and Iraqi civilians increasing body count made my blood boil. I believe our occupation there is fueling the al-Qaeda-sponsored and affiliated insurgency, and thus creating an already high risk of terrorism around the world and here at home. I see you get the rest of the picture on it.

They are not still over there because of oil. If the media will talk about what they have done there then it wouldnot sound like a waste. I hate the fact that my husband and many of neighbors are away fighting. There are terrorists in iraq. Would you like another 911? They cannot leave until they can defend themselves. Our troops are there building schools and such.

it is all about preserving America, do you realize how much our Country needs oil to function daily. To leave the oil to open madmen could send the USA in to depression that would make the late 20's seem like a pool party. In the early nineties their was a civil war in Africa and the USA did nothing as mass killings filled the street and rivers, they had no riches and sadly we turned our backs and did nothing, We had the Shaw as our friend in Iran in the 70' til he was overturned and the new Iran was born with much hatred for America. It all about the money, which in this case is black tea and we call oil.

I am a soldier... 23 years of duty in service to our nation. I can tell you I have seen terrible things and wonderful thigns come from wars and conflicts. I wish that there are those who would turn down the radio and write a soldier in combat just once. I have seen first hand the upgrade of facility and electrical systems, the creation of schools and the rebuilding of places of worship. THe Haji and the military working together to secure Iraq... I don;t see it as a waste when you understand that more people died in Iraq the previous year from starvation and disease than have died since the start of the war. Is it worth it? Lets see... our own country fought nearly 40 years after the Declaration of Independance... fought amongst ourselves for people far removed from us. I kinda think we turned out okay

As have been in one, with a regular army on the other side, not a bunch of hide and run bombers, I am against war!
I am especially opposed to fighting wars for corporations! Let them do there own damn fighting... and dying!
War is the governments way to problem solve, and usually is a last resort!
I think those who have never been in one can give their own reasons, but you have no idea what it is like. Not one damn clue!

There is no "war" in Iraq. We invaded it without provocation, defeated its army, imprisoned its leader, and have dictated to it how to have a "democracy". Contractors with ties to the Bush regime are emptying our national treasury. We are borrowing astronomical amounts of money from China and other nations. Over 2,500 young Americans have died there and tens of thousands of Americans have been wounded or disabled. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died. Factions are in armed conflict. Since there is no opposing army, just insurgents who want us out, it is more of a resistance movement than a war. But the Decider decides while his buddies and family get richer and richer and everyone else pays.

Regardless of whether going there in the first place was a good idea or that, that's independent of staying there years after "Mission Accomplished".
We are not doing any good there, and quite likely making things much worse. Which means pointless waste life, both for US troops and Iraqis. We need to apply our efforts more intelligently, and more effectively, and stop baby-sitting a country that doesn't want our help.

this is not helping your kids to stay safe at all and it's kinda sad that you think it is...anyway...
Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 thing but while Bush had guys over there and had a country scared and unsure he thought what better a time...most people are glad for it to take place but the biggest disgust about Sept 11 was the fact it was on U.S. soil. I hear "you have to accept there'll be civilian casualties in a war" but it seems it's only acceptable if it's someone else's civilians and not Americans...don't get me wrong I'm not an American hater my husband and two sons are citizens of the U.S. but I am open to the fact that other countries have different values than me. Everything that's taken place over there and where's the emphasis on Osama Bin Laden...Bush has forgot all about that freaks importance.
