I don't know how firearms can be environmentally friendly. Anything that disrupts a naturally existing environment is not environmentally friendly. I believe that no weapon is environmentally friendly. Guns, for example, cause a loud bang, hence noise pollution even if it is just for a second. Next, the ammo contains lead, which is poisonous to any living creature, hence why pregnant weapon should not handle a gun, it can have serious effects on her child and her pregnancy. Too much of anything causes change in the environment and weapons are designed to cause change, no weapon is environmentally friendly. Though using a gun in a hundred acre woods is not going to cause too much change to the surrounding environment, but when you create a situation where there are 1,000 guns going off in a hundred acre woods, then there will be profound impact on that environment.

Catridgeless, like "metal storm," iron dum dum bullets (shh don't let the Geneva convention heat about dum dum bullets) with a copper coating (to protect the barrel). The only metal would be the bullet that would mostly (except for the copper) break apart and rust to nothing in a few decades or less.
There is also the airgun that could shoot poison darts. Bacteria poison would degrade fairly quickly and if it's wood, it would rots fairly quickly.

An environmentally friendly weapon could be cow poop that you shoot out of a big hose. I would be really nasty to the person it hit but it would make the grass grow better around the person, the environment. haha.

Cudgels?
Preferably wielded by the two heads of state who want to fight the battle, leaving everyone else to get on with their lives.
