Do hackers ever attack Islamic militant websites (you know the ones that show all the beheadings and propoganda?) Couldn't hackers cripple the flow of information and propaganda?

The US government has the best hackers in the world and I'm sure they have been hacked everyday to see what all is on the server. There really would not be much on them but only what they wanted to post anyway. So why would they really care if they got hacked long as there was no damage done to the server. How do you think we have been getting the videos before they are being released?
And to answer someones question of how could they get an IP address and a domain? That is easy. They are not in the USA. They live in an Islam controlled country and it is legal there.

Dip Shi* (nice name) is correct. There has been debate for some time in the intelligence and government communities as to which would be best. Shutting the sites down or monitoring them for information. From my understanding it the decision was made not to take them down with freedom of speech issues be cited as the deciding factor.
Of course this does nothing to prevent independent groups or people from attacking these sites. Of course they would be doing it without government sanction and would be prosecuted if caught. I have little doubt this type of thing happens on a regular basis.

I don't know if anyone has actually tried it but I seriously don't understand how these companies allow the sites to be hosted with them. They HAVE to purchase the domain and the hosting space... don't these places ahve regulations against this type of site? I am not a website guru or anything but when I made my own site I had to read through a million rules and regs. I suppose they could have their own server... but... *sigh* I think they need to take all these sites down, it just promotes hatred and gives them the attention they are wanting!

yes the israeli army has a whole department of hackers whos job it is to go online and hack into anti- semitist and islamic militant wbsites and crash them

You're better off not shutting them down, but rather monitoring traffic to and fro and maybe learning where certain people are.
