If your job requires the use of a computer, the Army will supply one to you. That being said, it would not be allowed for personal use.

If you want a personal laptop, you're just as well off buying one from Circuit City or Best Buy. The Base/Post/Ship/Marine Exchange carries a token selection of them, but you can probably do better price-wise with the larger retailers.

they probably won't. the army probably doesnt have new laptops. My unit sends old equipment to the army all the time. they don't have the budget to give you any kind of discount on any equipment new or old. im sure you could probably get a military discount at a civilian computer store.

Son the only "Discount" you are going to receive is an M-16, and a free ticket to Iraq, Or Afghanistan. COMBAT is going to be your only "Discount" as you asked. And if the taking of another human beings life is considered a "Discount" to you, Then you are most likely to receive that "Laptop" in a V.A. hospital, or through other means. Do-NOT expect rewards for serving your country, doing your duty as a man, and being God-Fearing. Outside of that, Your question is more-the-less asking for a "Reward" for being a soldier. Chit if I was rewarded for what I went through, I'd be Bill-Gates. God Bless You Son, And God-Bless Us All. Hope this answers your question. 1st Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam "67"-"70"
