I have to say that I am on the fence at this topic. Should we be in Iraq, does it compare to Vietnam, give your reasons why or why not? Be nice everyone, no need to bash anyone on their beliefs.

My husband is in the Marine Corp. He can be so romantic, sweet, and charming, BUT when i try to talk with him on an emotional level about my feelings or his, he's just not there. Its quite frustrating...Is this because he's a man, or does the military play some part in this issue? Any adivce will help me to understand this problem.

With car bombs killing Iraqis and troops, what happened to the common sense of limiting vehicles to military only?
The commerce of this country would survive versus the deaths that are comparable.

KIRKUK, Iraq (AFP) - At least 36 people were killed across Iraq, including 18 in a bombing campaign in the oil city of Kirkuk, as US President George W. Bush made a surprise five-hour visit to Baghdad.

Five car bombs, several of them involving suicide attackers, rocked the ethnically diverse city that has been more known individual killings between ethnic and sectarian groups. A Marine on patrol said "I thought the war would be over now but it drags on and on. There seems to be no end in sight. The Insurgents will not stop no matter what we do. What are we going to do now"?

The Marines continued patrol but clearly were in danger.

I very recently (today) stepped on a fellow Veterans toes and have since appologised. How many of you out there, even in another country, have personally thanked your Veterans for their service? They deserve it in this day and age.

I am NOT in favor or against the war in Iraq, but one view that I see is America has not been attacked since 9/11. The reason is the hunt for the most wanted on terrorism that is in progress. The people who are on that "most wanted" list happens to be in Iraq. There is so many hate against the war but yet America has been blessed w/out attacks. Unfortunately, other countries has been attacked such as the train attacks in Europe.

Of course Iraq could never occupy an American city, nor have they ever threatened our soil...hmmm...why did we attack them anyway...first it was WMD...then it was Sadamm...then Iraqi freedom...and 80 % of Iraqi's don't want us there...Ahhh...democracy... I love it, especially if I have die for a country other than mine.

"Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear -- kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor -- with the cry of grave national emergency ... Always there has been some terrible evil to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant sums demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real."
~ General Douglas MacArthur, 1957
