I can not remember the website, but here is the mailing address:
National Personnel Records Center
Military Personnel Records
9700 Page Avenue
St. Louis, MO 63132-5100
My father passed away 11 years ago and my teenage son wanted to know more about his grandfathers military background. On the web site you can request records, it took about 2 weeks and we got everything in the mail.
Hope this helps you out. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

You need the military members social security number. That is the only way to get an official record of military service.

My advice is to attempt this and guard your son and sister.

You really can't. You can find out what medals they rate and such if you are a relative. If you know where they registered their dd214 you can get a copy of it, but for the most part it is confidential info. What type of info are you looking for?
