I admire those that are not mindless zombies ... the few in there capable of thinking for themselves.
But then, if they were totally capable of thinking for themselves...they wouldn't be in the military.
Basically the military is for low IQ people who cannot get a job anywhere else that requires a thinking creative and individual mind.

Active soldiers have to be very careful about voicing any type of opinion about the military or anyone considered to be a "commander". That being said, I think everyone has a right to an individual opinion as long as it is their beliefs driving that decision and not based upon rumors they have received. After all, this the reason we go anywhere in the world when our assistance is requested (whether we personally believe in the cause or not). Our job is to protect this country's interests and the freedom we so often take for granted. You don't have to support our government or their reasons. All of us are and should feel indebted to the soldiers because they are the reason we can have these open discussions.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and one of the guiding principles upon which our society is based is the basic right to express that opinion through peaceable assembly and freedom of expression. I have no qualms with someone who opposes the war irrespective of their current status. It's not a matter of whether or not they have earned to right to disagree. We all have the God given right to have and express our opinions. Our Founding Fathers though so highly of this right it is part of the very documents upon which this great Nation of ours was born.
We have our faults as does any country and any government.
It is possible to support our men and women of the Armed Services and still believe they are fighting an unjust war. One must be able to separate the people from the job because, in essence, that's what it is all about.....thousands of people doing their job.
God Bless America and God Bless and Keep Safe our men and women in uniform.

Former military member are certainly allowed to voice their opinions about war and government. Current members need to be careful when voicing theirs. Sometimes what they say is not good for morale or for unit discipline. Unless of course you like coups and mutiny.

They have that right, as a matter of fact they have earned that right. They have joined in with the majority that know we went to war under false pretense and should be getting out of there as soon as possible. Let Iraq run their country as they see fit. I also believe that people that are for the war and speak out about it have that right. However I do feel that they are mistaken.

They are allowed their opinion, yet they are to follow and do as the President says. So they can think it and feel that way, but as a member of the military they should not voice it.

As a Viet era Vet:
Freedom of expression is what this country is based on. Just because you don't agree with a particular idea, does not mean you do not have a right to express an opinion.
Those who have been there have as much right to their opinion as anyone else.

I'm sticking around to see what answers you get.
Interesting, I never knew!
I stuck around & read the opinions...........
I see freedom's becoming scarce, everywhere. Huh?
Ok if it's in the governments favour but less welcome in reverse.
Why am I not surprised!
If these ex/serving soldiers feel the need to do this, even though they have drawn some Very hard criticism; some of which I've read here.
I'm a Brit & some of these comments have been quite shocking.
To all YOU guys....................
I think there's something going Very wrong with US policy.

I don't care about former members (civilians) but current ones better keep their mouths shut and do what their commander and chief says to do or else end up in front of a general court martial committe for insubordination and conduct unbecoming.

They definitely have the right to object to anything that their country does. They do not have the right to desert their troops however. When you join the Armed Forces, you are asked to follow instructions and the highest instructions come from your Commander-in-Chief.
