I once heard that there was political talk of a "female draft" during a time of war. What do you all think about women fighting out in the field? Do you think they'd survive it?

How long will he be gone for basic training? Will I be able to spend time with him after that, or will he go straight into the service? I always hear about significant others spending an awful lot of time apart, but how long would that be exactly? Or just an approximation, based on personal knowledge, if you can help.

Would it make things easier to be together if we were married beforehand?

Would he have to live on base for the 4 (?) years he would be required to serve? If yes, would I be able to live with him as his girlfriend, or would we have to be married? What about benefits? Would I get any as his wife?

I just want him to serve and be happy and enjoy himself, as it's always been a dream of his, but I figure I might as well get as much information as possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I keep hearing the reasons for going to war are that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and that Sadium was responsible for September 11. Both are untrue. We found no weapons and Al Qaeda who attached us hate him just as much as they hate America. So far there is no evidence he had ties to Al Qaeda at all. There are greater threats out there right now, with more evil tyrants. So please again tell me what was the reason for going to war? If it was for freedom why not start with countries like Sudan that need it more?

I want to join the marines or the army. I am in college so i would join the reserves for the time being. After basic training i think i would try to go to ranger school. Give me some advice. Is there alot about the marines that they dont tell you when you sign up? Do they screw you out of anything? Is it worth it? I want serious answers, because this is a serious question.

I'm not afraid of seeing combat, but I'd really hate to get a desk job or so other job where I'm constantly sitting around. But it's not like if I joined the Marines that they'd let me be a sniper, or in the Navy I wouldn't be able to join the Navy Seals. So really I ask what branch would offer the best benfits for a woman to join into?
