I am NOT in favor or against the war in Iraq, but one view that I see is America has not been attacked since 9/11. The reason is the hunt for the most wanted on terrorism that is in progress. The people who are on that "most wanted" list happens to be in Iraq. There is so many hate against the war but yet America has been blessed w/out attacks. Unfortunately, other countries has been attacked such as the train attacks in Europe.

Good question. It's an emotional question so logic if often thrown out. We haven't been attacked and several plots throughout the world have been foiled because of the stepped up security of us and our allies.

As for why it is not appreciated, I believe that people cannot separate their ideologies /liberal/conservative, democratic republican and judge the proghress that has been made. Pretty much if you are lib/dem you are supposed to hate the war and say it is a failure.

Also, the draft has been gone for thirty years, and an amazingly large percentage of the population has never served in the armed forced or have any close family or friends who have. therefore, they are extremely uneducated about realities of the military. I think they think we go to foreign countries and spin around in circles, shooting our machineguns.

It is like the 60s & 70s, people think they know what is best for everyone. They are disrepectful of authority esp. the President.
Our homeland has been safe since 9/11, but no credit has been given to the military or the President. I do see Viet Nam all over - the American people spitting on our soldiers. The plan was made & is being carried out in the time frame thought from the beginning. The Prime Minister of Iraq stood side by side with President Bush & affirmed this today.

People are not as much against the war on terror, as they are against the war in Iraq. There would be much more support for the war in Iraq had Bin Laden been captured by now. Unfortunately much of our man power that could be used hunting the coward is being used in Iraq. Iraq needed to be done, just like Iran will need to be done: however one job needs to be completed before we start another, and the first job should be Bin Laden.

I am unappreciaitive of the war because all we are doing is acting as stressors and instigators in the Middle East right now... Closing our borders and protecting our continent is important to me and I don't suggest we stop policing america but if you really dug down to it and looked at the root cause of the "terrorism" in the middle east it all basically amounts to people being pissed that we let a bunch of Jewish Settlers move into Palestine and erect fortified housing projects and organize armies and declare their independence in somebody else's ancient homeland... A lot of these "terrorists" were kicked out of their ancestral and traditional homesteads and forced to leave all their belongings and move to Jordan or elsewhere while America and the west sat there and *PAID* the Israelis to essentially invade Palestine... This war on terrorism sounds good on paper but the fact of the matter is... we don't care about terrorism in Nigeria or Sudan or Ghana or our own neighbor, Columbia, for that matter... just Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran.

Saddam is being tried for ordering the deaths of less than 300 people....

but what is the body count in Iraq right now?

Quack?

The war on terror is based on the faulty premise that terrorism can be eradicated. It's attacking the symptoms rather than the causes of terrorism, so it's not going to be effective in ending terror.
