Is it legal for an officer to "shove" or push anybody when they're not being arrested?

Me and a friend were walking behind two dudes after they had said something to us. It was just some drunken bickering, there was no physical violence between us at all - we were not charging at them or threatening violence, and an officer stormed across the street and shoved me. Then ironically accused me of "starting stuff".

it says that your family will be security checked as well and that it is strongly recommended that I advise them that they will be secruity checked also. But I don't get on with my family and I don't want them to know where i am, will they find out where I am if they get extensively security checked

There is a lady that I was working with that hasn't come back to work in 6 days. No one can get a hold of her and we've left messages asking her if she's ok. She recently moved here for her boyfriend from out of state and she's not the type of person that would just leave without a word. Plus, she left a few thousand $$$ worth equipment at our office and I think she would have come back for it by now if she would have just quit. I finally got my manager to call the police and ask them to do a welfare check to make sure she was ok and they said they'd get back to us as soon as they knew something that was this afternoon. The town that she lives in with her boyfriend is small and they'd have an officer available to go right away and check. So far no news has come so what does that mean? I'm really worried about her and I hope she's ok.

If a person gets a ticket for no insurance and and expired inspection sticker should they plea guilty and pay the fine or hire a lawyer. This person has never had any other drving offenses before? What shoud they do? Or could they talk to the District Attorney to put the case off so they can get all insurance and tags on the car. Can the district attorney ask to have this postpone to a later date?

This might seem like a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. When you commit a crime in a different state; are you prosecuted in the state where the crime is committed in or the state where you are from?

For example, I am from New York so if I am arrested for.. let's say drug possession in New Jersey would I be prosecuted in New Jersey or New York court?

I never heard of this. An officer came to my home and rang my bell. He asked me if I had been driving recently. He said a another driver complained about my improper lane usage. He wrote me a ticket and the woman who complained, signed her name on the signature portion of the ticket. The officer said I have to show up for court and tell the judge my side of the case since he was not a witness. Has anyone in Illinois ever heard of this?

Driving on the highway, I accidentally cut in front of an off-duty police officer late at night. He was driving a Honda Accord and I had no clue that he was an off duty police officer. After cutting him off, he started flashing a flash light in my face and trying to talk to me on the highway going at speeds of 70 mph at 9 o'clock at night. Being frightened, I tried to avoid him thinking it's some lunatic and tried driving off. At the same time, I was with my wife and she was incredibly afraid of our lives thinking that this guy is going to commit some kind of criminal act. After exiting the highway, I had thought I had avoided him, but I ended up getting pulled over by a local police. Local PD was nice enough to apologize and they stated that they are writing me a ticket for reckless driving, which is a misdemeanor, but under the name of the off duty officer. Now I am being prosecuted... what can I do????!!!!

What's the difference between a state jail, prison and penetentiary? Or all they all the same?

Also does it depend on the type of crime you commit to determine what jail you'll end up in?

A growing white collar crime problem is that of counterfeit pharmaceuticals. Often drug manufacturers approach local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities with complaints of counterfeit drugs bearing the company's trademark. However without the aid of experts from the drug industry and both state and federal consumer protections agency's and the FDA, law enforcement would most likely be unaware of the problem and unable to determine which drugs were real and which were fake.

Please read the following website and if you agree with what Johnno Hills is trying to do sign the petition at the bottom of his home page.

http://www.realpolicing.co.uk/

It is time that Labour ended the spin and statistics and gave back to law abiding British citizens the police force they want and deserve.

Just by signing the petition you are boosting police morale. Police Officers need to know that you care as much as they do please support them now!

I want to eventually be a psychologist for the FBI. I want to become a special agent and might join the police dept and work to become a homicide detective. I have also always wanted to join the military as a army or navy officer because i already have my degree in psychology. What should I do. Skip the military and join the police after college? Will that just be a waste of time which could be used to gain law enforcement experience?

Now this is a difficult one - considering the questions I have been asking of late. However, all I am after is a way of lowering the crime rate in my questions - therefore which of the above would you personally think would lower the crime throughout the world.
