Thoughts? You really don't know what my first thoughts were, do you little boy?
However. Picture this scenario. A young woman who speaks little English is caught in a situation where she is to be arrested due to communication difficulties. She runs away in absolute fear and confusion because in her home country she knew she would be, innocent or not, thrown into jail. She is shot in the back. Yep that is justice Bush style isn't it?
Picture this scenario. There is a robbery in a grocery shop. One of the employees is a high end Down person who panics at the sight of the arriving police and runs. He is shot in the back. How do you justify this?
You can't. Sorry to say but you give red necked hillbillies a bad name.
People do not always run because they have something to hide. They panic.
But don't worry. What you are asking for might just come about in your glorious country. Once martial law is brought in, and this is inevitable, you will get your wish.
But, remember, they might shoot your deaf mother for not hearing the orders to "Stop!" They might even get you for not stopping cos your iPod almost deafened you.
mmmmmmm karmic justice. Ain't it grand?
(I suppose you are all for bombing the middle east out of existence?)

Now, I know you're joking here...or at least I hope so! I'm a police officer and England and as you know we are not routinely armed. the thought of shooting someone in the back just because he's running away...sheesh! Where did you get THAT idea from????
People run from the police for many, many different reasons - and no matter why you run you have the right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence.
I joined the police to protect human rights - not violate them.

I don't think the police should be able to shoot them in the back that is just ludicrous. I do, however, think that if you run from the police they have every right to chase you down, taser your a** then ask you questions about why you were running after you are cuffed and thrown in the back of the patrol car. If you are not doing anything illegal why are you running?????

We used to run from the police when we were younger. My little community had a curfew and me and my friends would go out and let them spot us while we gave them the finger, or whatever... All in good fun. Only one of us ever were busted.
Good thing we don't live in your world or me and like 20 friends will be just another statistic for trigger happy cops.
Maybe you need to move to China?

lol, wow. Well here they used a Taser gun on a man and he died. So they have to go back and re-evaluate that method. But I do feel if you run from the police then you should be tasered not shot though unless you're shooting back at them... then it's your @ss, you deserve to get shot.
