A policeman or a firefighter?
No "both" answers, please. I'm asking you to make a choice.

After four hours I'll tally the results and see who comes out the winner for our affection :) That's why I'm asking for no "both" answers. That, and I like being a bit of a jerk sometimes.

And I don't think anyone compares to a soldier, so I'm leaving them out because it would be unfair to police and firefighters.

I prefer James Randi over either of the two.
However, I definitely prefer firefighters over policemen. All firefighters risk their lives to save the lives of others, on a regular basis. Many cops (though not all) are just bullies in uniform.

Firefighters by far. Ask any cop how many times he's drawn his weapon and most never do. Firefighters don't have the luxury of seeing the threat so clearly when confronted with every new ride into what could be hell. Just my take.

The ultimate hero is Rowdy Roddy Piper, but 2 answer your question would have to say policeman - they deal with so much yet clearly by this forum people only think of the negative aspect.

If these are the only two options than the policeman. They have to respond more frequently to incidents that are of a more dangerous variety, which they risk their lives.

Policemen. They get paid less. But then, do volunteer firefighters get paid at all?

Firefighters for sure. Policia have done nothing but wreak havoc in my life. Firefighters are everybody's friend!
