A growing white collar crime problem is that of counterfeit pharmaceuticals. Often drug manufacturers approach local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities with complaints of counterfeit drugs bearing the company's trademark. However without the aid of experts from the drug industry and both state and federal consumer protections agency's and the FDA, law enforcement would most likely be unaware of the problem and unable to determine which drugs were real and which were fake.

The problem probably isn't testing the drugs so much--the drug manufacturer can probably do it quickly enough--as it is finding out where the drugs came from.

And this is the main reason I won't buy drugs off the net, unless it's directly from the manufacturer or a well-known distributor. I have no way of knowing if this drug is what it's supposed to be.
