If some guy wearing a fake police officer costume with a fake badge says he's a police officer and you're under arrest and that he has to take you away, how can you tell that he's a fake?

How would you do so without getting in trouble in case he actually is a real police officer?

Where do you think the Lap Top computers are? What information is contained on those lap tops that is so sensative, and do the American People have a right to know why the problem has not been addressed?

I tried vital statistics department in my state and they stated that they could not release it to me. Myself and my mother are my cousin's only living blood relatives. My cousin's spouse is living, however we think that, that person is the reason the cause of death was ruled suspicious. The death was in 1999 and was caused by a firearm.

I was just wondering if anyone on these forums was in the police force & what your job involves on a day to day basis? Is it a very difficult job? Have you ever been in a near death experience? etc.

I was sitting outside a Cumby's in this jerk's car (haha) while he went in to buy something. While he was at the counter, (I saw all this too), a kid leaned over the counter and held a knife to the cashier. He took off. We had to go to the P.D. and answer questions. By the description of the car, they caught him!

I want to join the UK Police force when i am older, but want the university experience first. Also, i think that a degree would give me something to fall back on if the Police force career didnt work out for me. I was thinking of doing a degree in crime deviance & society or something law related.
But, would a university degree be beneficial when joining the force, even though you dont need any qualifications? Would it be easier to climb the ranks and enter the promotion scheme what the police offer? etc.
I am 17 by the way, so will/maybe go to university next year.

Same question, put simpler:

Last night I got pulled over for the first time. The cop said he pulled me over because I had a tailight out. The actualy light was stilll working, but I guess I had to cover it up. $101

I don't have my six months driving time up, but I had my friend's brother & one of his friends in the car because I was driving them honestly, like a mile back to her house. They were hanging out at a playground and she didn't have enough room for all of them in her car. The cop let me go ahead & bring them the rest of the way home after he ticketed me. $101

I was so nervous and out of it & I thought the only proof of insurance card I had was in my other purse. After talking with my mom after the whole thing, it turns out the proof of insurance was in the freaking car, I just didn't look or know I was so freaked out. The cop ticketed me for $532.

I don't know anything about this stuff or if I should contest like my friends said I should. Any input helps, ~thanks~

say you were driving down a street following the speed limit and everything but its a few minutes after curfew and stop at a red light. a cop car is next to you at the red light and can he just stop you right there because he assumes you are not supposed to be driving?

ok. So I know police need warrants to search a home for drugs and that the warrants come from probable cause. but my question is what do the police EXACTLY need in order to have that probable cause to get the warrant.

for example. in my town, people have been getting busted for selling dope. ok, so what do the police need? Do they need to have proof first that someone has drugs? Do they have to have an informant first do a buy? Do they just need some kind of idea someone's doing something?

Like I have heard that police can't do a raid until an informant buys. Like I had a buddy that got busted for growing pot and he said that the police NEEDED someone to take photos of the grow first BEFORE they got the warrant. Is that true? my friend was dumb enough to let someone take pictures. thats his prob though.

Can police just use an infrared camera to look at the heat in your house to come busting down the door or do they need more evidence?
