Maybe you could get a petition going and seriously get as many names as you can on it then present it to the Mayor w/copies to the City Council and Police Chief. Let them know how fed up people get with hearing the thumping of stereos and concerns over how the people in the car are a safety hazard because they can't hear sirens of emergency vehicles or horns being blown at them. Maybe if you are insistent enough you can make them pass a law and ENFORCE it! Good Luck!!!

If it is radio stations they are blaring, set up Ipod's and laptops in homes on corners that will over-ride the loud drivers station signal to play what the Ipod is playing. It could be the sound of static, opera, waterfalls, whatever you have on repeat.

Gather petitions to help start the process of getting a noise ordinance amendment for the community area being effected. Hire an agency that will collect a sound study in your area. Chances are at certain times of the day, the city's own noise ordinance laws are being violated. Make it an issue with the city government. The police can only do so much.

I'm glad I wasn't a rebellious, arrogant young man when I started driving. No sunglasses or backward baseball cap. What you have up there is testosterone instead of brain cells. Frankly, I'd rather spend my money on rib eye steaks instead of the obligatory 20-something car stereo/speaker installation.

Thank you for this question. Just gloat and smirk and realize that they are in a phase of testing authority in their quest for male identity.

Everytime you come near one, just tell yourself that in 20 years they won't be able to hear any music at all from ear damage.
That makes it much easier to take.
