Why or why not?

I have the reserve police academy and would be willing to go thru the full time academy but don't want to double major unless you could get hired as a police officer with a c.j. major for itt tech

You can get a police job somewhere even without a degree. A lot of departments are desiring degrees more and more especially with accreditation, but its not mandatory with some.

Of course you always have to go though the state POST approved accademy, this is not college, it is required state training.

But you can get a job in some departments with just a high school dipoloma, but normally the lower paying smaller departments, And many depts are not looking for CJ degrees any longer, but are looking at science degrees, and esp computer degrees. Even management degrees.

Yes, but you still have to meet all the requirements for entrance to, and graduate from the police academy to become an officer.

regardless of what type of college degree you have, I do not know of any state that have departments that will hire you without an approved state certified police academy.

I am sure you can.Police depts. are really needing officers and with a degree in C.J you should slide right in.
