My friend was visited by the Census Bureau. He was told that he'd be arrested if he refused to take the census. Can someone explain how this isn't a violation of our civil liberties?

I am not really looking for a lecture on road safety and I know your training covers what you do but I just want the answer to this question. You police can legitimately, in emergency situations such as to catch a speeding civillian or delivering a transplant organ, drive to the maximum capability of yourself and your vehicle. Although you do it for a job, do you sometimes find it absolutely thrilling and satisfying to do that?

We did a survey at a local community college and I was surprised to see how many students were in favor of a "civilian-enforced" checkpoint. When asked, would you and several people in your community enforce checkpoints if needed in a given situation, 85% responded yes. In other words regular armed civilians would set up a checkpoint at the entrance of town, say there was a serial killer or an escaped convict on the loose...Just until the cops caught him, then everything would return back to normal...Do you think this would help catch more criminals?

I was the last car in a four car pie-up. The accident was caused by the first car making a sudden left turn onto the street we were traveling on. (Or so I was told by the other drivers. I did not see what was going on, and at first thought that the accident was solely between my car and the car in front of me.) The officer on the scene gave me the only ticket (I'm assuming that it was because I was the tail vehicle), and said to me,"Somebody's got to get the ticket!" The ticket was for Careless Driving, which I don't think was at all the case. When the SUV in front of me rammed into the previous two cars, it came to a very sudden stop and I hit the brakes immediately, but there was not much room to stop in time. I don't see how I should be ticketed, I was not following too closely for normal braking conditions. I will be going to court to fight this next month. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this in court?

I am a Virginia resident and I currently have a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit which is recognized in about 15 other states. I have family in Maryland and visit there often and have to leave my weapon home because states such as Maryland and California do not recognize Virginia Concealed Handgun Permits. I know there is a way to get a permit to carry concealed in all states and just need to know how I can get one. A friend at work mentioned something about going threw the U.S Department Of Justice or Federal Bureau of Investigations (F.B.I) to get a permit that covers all states but I am not sure where I go at on the sites to get the forms. I have never been in trouble with the law and have no felonies of any kind. How can I get a concealed weapon permit to carry a handgun in all states? A link and instructions on how to apply perhaps would be great.

I just watched a bunch of videos on youtube of people saying they were unjustly tasered. When you watch the videos they all have one thing in common. If they just did what the officers said they wouldn't have been tasered.
