There is a provision in California law that you can, if you request it when a citation is issued, have a traffic matter heard in the county seat of the county where the ticket was issued--but it is too late for that and would not help you anyway. In some rare circumstances, criminal cases can be transferred for hearing to a different county, but that simply is not going to happen for a traffic ticket.

However, assuming this is just an ordinary traffic infraction, unless you are going to want to contest the ticket (i.e., plead not guilty and have a trial), you will be able to take care of everything through the mail or on line (including traffic school if that is what you decide to do).

Since your question didn't indicate it, I am going to make the assumption that you do not reside in CA.

If that is the case, then I would suggest either paying the ticket by mail, or appearing for the scheduled hearing. Because the ticket is for a traffic offense in violation of CA law, venue cannot be transferred outside of CA.

You cant. You must contest the ticket in the county courthouse of where it was issued. Just pay the fine and stop whining!

you can't but it is important to remember that states can only punish you in thier state.

This is also a trick of law enforcement offices nationwide. no one astoundingly enough has challenged them by saying hey ill pay it next time im in that particular state.
