You have to go in person to a magistrate's office and show cause... I know this because I live in NC.

You should call the Courts in the County in which the warrant would have been issued. So, if the offense was committed and the person was going to Court in X county, call that county's courthouse and just ask. You'l lprobably have to have a case number. You can also call the Sheriff's office in that same county and ask if there's an active warrant. Most Sheriff's only require a name and date of birth to check a warrant.

north carolina sheriff's department web site. Google "north carolina sheriff" and it should come up with a link to the website. from there you can find a link to "warrant" info. if you know at least the first & last name plus date of birth... it should come right up if there is a warrant.
