This doesn't make any sense to me: A Georgia man gave the middle finger to a judge who sentenced him to life in prison plus 40 years for the shooting death of a Savannah debutante during a botched robbery. What's the point of giving 40 extra years? Does life in prison mean a certain amount of years or does it mean he stays in prison until he dies and the 40 extra years is just a 'f*ck you' addition to the sentence?

Ex-husband was convicted of Murder II and I'm trying to find out details of his arrest and conviction. I have called Michigan Court Clerks office and I would have to get records from there, but I live in Oklahoma and that is not possible. Is there another way? Any help would be appreciated.

What can you do/ say to them

Do you have to let them in?

What do they have to show you? (any legal warrant etc?)

The more information the better, would be very much appreciated. My girlfriend's getting some hassle and I want to know the facts.

DIfferent POlice CHiefs from different areas wear a different number of stars on thier collars and despite my experience of over 11 years in and around law enforcement both City Police Side and County Sheriff Side, no one has been able to explain it to me. My Police CHief back hoome wore 4 stars, but the sherriff wore 3, and the next county over the sheriff wore 2, and thepolice chief wore 2, is it a population thing? or a department size thing?

Yesterday an auto-rickshaw driver mis-behaved with me in Bangalore (India). Even though he initially agreed to charge only what comes in the meter but after we reached our destination he demanded Rs. 5 extra (meter + Rs. 5).

When I disagreed, he threatened to beat me by raising his hands on me. I have noted down the license plate of the auto-driver. It is "KA 05 B9147". Where can I report this incident? Can I do it online or simply by mailing some authority?

What if you ask for a breath test instead is this reason to be arrested. Also the officer states "its the law". to do roadsides.

Currently I live at college on on-campus apartment housing. My neighbors are exceedingly loud and have their music and bass on all the way, through all hours of the day. It has been going on for months now, and every time it happens I contact my residence hall director as per university policy. However, he doesn't ever seem to do anything (and I believe he is friends with the girls). I've spoken to the dean of student affairs as well as the dean of residence life. And I've read through the school policy concerning noise. (No noise is to be heard outside of the apartment at any hour of the day, and repeated violations can results in housing contract termination). Today I called my RA for what must be at least my 30th time (I've documented all the times I've called) and he was exceedingly rude to me, telling me that he "didn't have time to entertain this". Can I contact the police about this? Isn't noise violation a violation of some state statute? How about the campus police?

My boyfriend is about to serve one year in prison. Rather than having him be a felon forever I know cops can pull strings if you can be an informant. My question is how do you ask the cops if they can work out a deal? I know I can do two ways: I can buy/sell drugs from someone and have the cops tap me or I can snitch on a person I can't stand who has started moving large amounts of cocaine. I don't need to hear how it's wrong because I don't care! I just need to know how you approach the cops with this information and also I wouldn't want my boyfriend to know. Doing this would save me about $12k on a lawyer for the appeals process. Thanks.
