Yes. It will take time, but it *is* possible. I know a guy who is a convicted felon, but his conviction was about...oh, at least 10 years ago. He started working in a grocery store and climbed the ladder as high as he wanted to, and now has a great job working for the department of transportation.
Of course, he has a set of skills that enabled him to get the DOT job - he can run and maintain heavy equipment and he's a certified welder.
But yes, you CAN do it - it's just a matter of determination. Lots of doors will be closed for awhile, but persistence pays.
Good luck and Merry Christmas!

YES I WOULD SUGGEST CONTACTING A LOCAL CONSTRUCTION TRADE UNION ,THEY NEVER ASKED ANYTHING ABOUT MY CRIMINAL BACKGROUND..ALTHOUGH THEY DO WANT A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA AND A GOOD DRIVERS LICENSE JOURNEYMEN I N.J. MAKE BETWEEN 28.00--38.00 PER HOUR PLUS ANNUITY AND PENSION BENEFITS OF ABOUT 10.00 AN HOUR MORE AND THATS NOT BAD FOR A FELON
