I'd say about the time that technology geeks got more ambitious than the legislature and the cops. oops, I forgot to give due credit to the negligent parents that seem to think their child's "right to privacy" outranks the parents' role to raise mentally healthy kids.

Well you see when a man by the name of Dr. Spock wrote a manual on how to raise your child, even though he has none of his own, us parents were told NOT to correct our children by means of a butt whippen,if we did this it would hurt their little personalities. This was the start, "children became the controler in the Parent/Child relationship." Then our Government tells us that we cannot correct our children in any matter other then the ones that they prescribe. Our children are OUT OF CONTROL and it is because "WE" the parents no longer have any. Let your child steal and see who they want to pay for that crime and your child will get a "don't do that again", oh and by the way no TV for a week. I monitored EVERYTHIING my teenage daughter did, I would save and view her IM"s, look to see who she was chatting with, see what web sites she would visit and if I felt like it go through her room to look for things like drugs, smokes and even read a letter if it were laying around to see what she was getting into. Now mind you she thought that this was wrong for me to do and just so you know I NEVER READ HER DIARY! Well I found out that she was involved in drugs and had become an alcoholoic by age 14. I do not drink, but I am a 15 year recovered addict, but my daughter NEVER SEEN me in that manner, nor did I ever have them in my home. As far as kids on the internet, " Have you checked out the legalization of "Digitally Imaged Child Porn?" Most things that harm our children are not legal for them but they are legal for Adults, and we wonder why our children do it? By the way my daughter is clean and sober, raising my grandchild, and doing a GREAT job of it. If I was not so tough on her she would have been a burden on society instead of being a productive person.

It's not legal and I pray that it stops. Unfortunately it takes one click or a wrong website and that crap pops up. Hopefully, the authorities will be able to keep weeding out those sick pedophiles and protect our children.
As a parent, I monitor my children on the web, but these things do actually pop up. We ALL have our part in this!!!! We ALL are responsible!!!!
Our Country is on a moral downslide and our children are in the crossfire.
God help us all.

I wonder if little kids on yahoo are wondering about your id? To your point. I'm not sure it is legal. It's an enforcement issue more than a statutory one.

NEVER. It is never legal. And it is never appropriate. Period. The parents of those children need to be held accountable for giving them access to such inappropriate smut.
