I am trying to access a friend's record for Lake County Jail in Indiana.

Also, I am looking for a Streamerville Prison, where another friend is locked up, but have no such luck in finding a site. Is there a national database in which I can access these records?

If you visit the police department or Sheriff's office, there is usually a computer kept in the lobby or other area, so you can access this information. Arrests are public record.

There are some depending on location and what sort of records you are interested in. If you updated your question with more specifics maybe we could help you.

First, you have probably misspelled the prison.Try this site for the prison inmate search (if the inmate is in indiana): http://www.in.gov/apps/indcorrection/ofs/

A Jail is local to a city or county. You would have to check with them.
