Our apartment was chosen for inspection, but before the manager and building owner came, my mother had to go change where the car was parked because of the street cleaner. She did not expect they would come because they did not specify a time. She left my 16 year old brother there so the house was not alone, so he greeted them and they told him because of a "rule" Ive never heard about, he had to step outside because he was a minor. They both went in without anyone else in the house and I just thought this was suspicious. Can they ask a minor to step outside the house? Can they go in our home without an adult or any permision of an adult?

Yorkshire police officers have been caught 27 times by speed cameras. The force has allowed the defence that they can't identify the driver. Presumably, Yorkshire magistrates now have to admit this defence for all drivers?
The views of the yorkshire felons would be appreciated.

A friend of mine had an incident where he went to someones house and the police were called. Once the police got there they realized that he had a warrant out for his arrest. He fled on foot, but left his car parked. They impounded his car. My understanding is that the cops took his car since he ran, and wanted to take away any other means of transportation. Is this reasonable, or were his rights violated?

and address.... Remember... it's only a suspicion. Do you think it right that a name and address is publicised before it is proven that a crime has been committed by the person?

If someone is sentenced to say eight years in prison they can be out in 4...Why? Why not sentence them to 4 years in the first place and make them serve all of it?Some say it is to reward prisoners who behave themselves...I think it would be better to say
"You are sentenced to 8 years, if you behave you will be out in that time if you don't we will add extra years to your sentence. This would keep the scum off the streets for longer and reward good behaviour.Remember...these people CHOSE to break the law; they could like most of us have CHOSEN not to burgle, mug, assault, steal, rape etc..that's why they are in jail in the first place.

On a recent visit to London, I heard an announcement on the underground system saying that anyone who verbally or physically assaults a member of staff will be prosecuted. Does this mean that if someone calls me and f*ing bastard, I can call the police and have them arrested?

There had been a fire next door the day before and I have a lot of bamboo in my yard. It burnt some of my yard. And then the next evening I was outside and saw a flame and I went through the bamboo and there was an old tree on fire. And I called the F.D., and they came and didn't put out the fire. My neighbor and I had to put the fire out ourselves. Should/Can I sue them? What would you do? I have already talked with the City Manager and he just said, "I'm sorry," but is that enough? And our area was in a burn ban???

What constitutes as a "clean" background? Basically, if we have a clean background, I will get hired for this job. However, we were told that half of all applicants are eliminated from the background. I have NO criminal background, reference's are good, only 2 tickets, not so great credit though. How do they determine a clean background?
