why are people so concerned over the rights of people that have murdered or raped, people are concerned about their humanity, when that person wasn't concerned regarding the rights of the victim.

In November 2004 I got into a fight. I got arrested, but it was my first offense, paid $40 and they let me go. Went to court next day and they gave me 6 months probation. While still on probation In March 2005 I made another mistake by pumping $30 of gas and taking off, but they got my plates and I was summons to court again. The court extended my probation 3 to 6 more months I think and I paid a $250 fine. They gave me another court date for summer 2005 but I didn't go because I didn't have a ride anymore and I didn't want to spend $80 round trip for a taxi because this happened in another town and I just pretended like they were just gonna forget about since I had already paid the $250 fine. Anyway time passed and a month ago I got a letter from my disability telling me there was a "warrant match" and that I had to resolve this matter or I won't be eligible. That's how I found out about the warrant! If they pull me over will I go to prison? I mean it's only 2 misdemeanors? :-(

While working at a restaurant, I bump into a co-worker whom I had altercations with before, I spilled water, he punch me on the face, we fought. I thought it was over after they pull us apart, and continued working (trying not to get fired). He went to the police and told them I assaulted him and I got arrested. I thought that after listening to my side of the story and talking to the witnesses (workers and customers), the police would dismiss the incident. They only took my statement but never say a word about having people to confirm my side of the incident. I was even more beat up than the other guy (he's 6'2 200 pounds. I'm 5'8 160 pounds). This happened in California. Help please.

I was speeding on a highway (going 60 in 50 zone) and was pulled over. The first thing the cop told me was I was going 81 and slowed down to 75. This was completely untrue. I mentioned this to him and suggested that maybe my speedometer was off but I couldn't have been going that fast. He went into his car and I went into mine after which he came back to me and said he's only going to write me as going 65. I said ok, took the report and left. Later when I had time to look at the report I saw that he wrote my comment as "substantially saying that I went maybe 65" and his accusation is that I went 65. Now, because he "wrote down" my violation as 65 he looks great in the report and I clearly look like a violator. However, in reality he "wrote down" my tocket in order so he doesn't look ridiculus (as it seems to me in my assesment). Additionally, I never recall saying that I went 65, only that my speedometer may have been off.
Any advice how to handle the situation

I got a speeding ticket. I paid the amount checked off by the officer. The county said I didn't pay enough but the police marked my ticket wrong. I am told I have like 4 days to send it. Can I fight it because the Officer made a mistake?

Nothing against the guardian Angels, it just seems like conditions are pretty bad bad when these folks come a knockin. I live in a very popular tourist city, and I have seen the crime rate skyrocket. Not just petty crimes, but murder, rape and some other disgusting things are going up, up , up!
Is it out of control?

I was charged with two counts ofpossession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and endangering a child, but never arrested. I was spending the night with my mother when her house was raided. I was the only one not arrested, but just found out I was indicted on those charges.

If you do, and you tell them the license plate, will the cops go to their house? Or do they have to see the dangerous driving when it's happening? (I ask because I find tailgating incredibly rude, annoying and dangerous.)

I noticed that when a restaurant closes, sometimes there is a yellow paper posted in the storefront indicating that the premises are not controlled by the landlord, or something like that. What is the purpose of these posts?

my ex-fiance is in jail for domestic no trespassing and harassment on me and my two teenage daughters. We are so stressed out and scared of him. He would come to our door and leave notes and bang on the door because all his women he cheated on me with left him and we wanted a free place to live. I've forgiven him alot but NO MORE!Also he would call us non stop until he filled my cell up with 19 calls in a few minutes. The cops arrested him leaving the property and he's been in jail since the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.I just wonder how he's being treated. I know nuthin about jail.I want him to hurt for the hell he's put us thru for the past 4 years.I hope it's hell for him.

Most of you didn't get a clue on what I was saying. If a person comments a hard core crime like rape, armed robbey I know thats a falony and strike, but lets say that same person takes some gum should he get another stike or if someone almost did a crime and he changed his mind should that be a strike? The crime was never commited. Should that person get a strike. The 3 strike law says yes. That's want am saying.

2006-12-19 10:24:38 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous

How can we get that to stop. Is there a group of people trying to get that off the books. It's not a fair law. If a person comments a falony, thats strike 1 if he comments another falony thats strike 2 and if he comments another thats strike 3. Well here's the thing the law did wrong. When the people voteing for the law, the understanding was if a person comments a hard core crime like rape, armed robbey, etc.. crimes like that, that person will get a strike. Not for selling a car or intent to bring in someone house, but never did. Why did we allow the goverment to lie to us in they got away with it for this long.My question is, is any one doing something about it? If so please give me the information.
