Most of you didn't get a clue on what I was saying. If a person comments a hard core crime like rape, armed robbey I know thats a falony and strike, but lets say that same person takes some gum should he get another stike or if someone almost did a crime and he changed his mind should that be a strike? The crime was never commited. Should that person get a strike. The 3 strike law says yes. That's want am saying.

We got what you said. There was a case in Calif. a few years ago some guy had gone into a K-Mart or some store like that and stole approx. 50 to 100 videos, he got a 3rd strike from that. You want us to believe that he shouldn't have gotten it. Sorry, but he should have, HE WAS A CAREER CRIMINAL. Like I said before why should we have to wait for someone to get hurt or killed before he gets 3rd strike. It isn't so much what is stolen but the value of the item. Usually anything over $400 constitutes a felony, but the amount is determined by each jurisdiction.

Also you want us to believe that if someone started to commit a crime and then changed their mind that they shouldn't get a 3rd strike.
If someone broke into a house but then left without stealing anything. You want us to believe that he shouldn't get a 3rd strike because he didn't do what he planned? Sorry same answer as before. He broke into the house.

Let me ask you this if someone started to rape you but then changed their mind should they not be charged with a felony and get a 3rd strike? After all the crime of rape wasn't committed.

I find it amazing that someone asking a question about 3 strike law would want more strikes. Anyone with 2 strikes should either make a distinctive life change and avoid all confrontation with the law or face the consequences. This means don't break the law in any way. I am 45 years old and I have never been convicted of a felony. Any time that I have come close to being caught the fear of prison has caused me to change my behavior. Anyone facing the 3rd strike deserves what they get. Statistics show that before someone is ever caught, jailed, and brought before a judge, that person has committed hundreds of crimes. I love the 3 strike law. Lets keep criminals off of our streets.

"Many adult men and females who've 2 strikes have become the third strike for issues that could be seen minor mutually with save lifting, writting undesirable exams, and so on..." ok, how smart are you in case you recognize that in case you get stuck for an extra beneficial criminal that you get lifestyles in detention center to shoplift or write a nasty verify? i recognize detention center populations are severe, yet does no longer you imagine lifestyles in detention center may artwork as a deterrent to committing felonies, and isn't any longer a society with low style of free criminals a sturdy element?

I can't believe you are arguing this. If a person commits a felony, he should strive to NEVER have another run in with the police. This is NORMAL behavior. Those that don't get this fundemental idea of right and wrong should be locked up for life, felony or misdemeanor.

In California, "strikes" are felonies that are deemed to be of a serious or violent nature.

Maybe you should do your homework before ignorantly bashing a concept that works.
