This is for a security guard positon that requires a guard license......where would you go to and are there and upfront fees involved?

In NYS you have to take an 8 hr course. It is generally offered by the Company you apply to. I think the cost is still about $40. There are some independant courses offered at about the same cost. A few Companies will pay for the course but most do not...Once you have your certificate it is good for any other company you choose to go to.

Why aren't you inquiring of the state office where you wish to be a guard of how to get the license and all the other details than posting question on the web-go to the source for the answer

Work for a security company and they will pay for it. They do FBI back ground checks and finger prints. They take it out of your first pay check it's like $80. in Washington state.
