I have a friend that recieved a check and a letter in the mail stating that she has just won 120,000.00. and they was giving her 3,654.80 for her clearance fees. she said that they told her to call her agent to verify that she recieved the check and the letter. she said when she called they told her to deposit the check into her account so that she can recieve 113,400.00 and 6,600 will be deducted to pay the sponsor who covered her clearance fees. so is this a scam or real? can someone please respond and let me know so i can notify her not to do it!

We have joint custody, but my son lives with him for now. My ex is refusing to give me the address that they are living at. Isn't it my legal right to know where my sons residence is when we have joint custody and joint guardianship?

the shackles she was placed in could have been easily used to place her in the stress position which has her placed on her knees with her arms and legs beind her attached to the wall or bench. it has lead to the exact death she suffered. Her name was Carol Ann Gotbaum, maybe an angry ex military police officer decided it would stop her screaming.

It seems easy, as I write the question, that I should tell, but the information that was passed onto me, unsolictated, was of no huge consequence, and by telling the person, whose personal documents were looked at, I would cause much kerfuffle and animosity between the persons involved.
At the moment I feel "when in doubt, do nought".

Hi - I started a really good job about 6 months ago which had a 6 month probationary period. During that time I had a number of meetings with my direct management where I was told I was doing well and they advised on things they wanted me to implement. Everything they asked I done, and did not receive any negative feedback from my employers. A week ago I received an email from my direct manager asking for a meeting the following day. The time came for the metting so I stood up and asked my manager if we should go and her agreed. He took me up to the meeting room walked me in and the department director was sitting there with the HR director, then my manager made a hasty exit.

The meeting started with "I have some bad news" and then they proceeded to tell me that I was being let go. They gave some reasons for this, which to me sounded trivial and I questioned them saying if you had a problem why not tell me during the last 6 months, of which they never answered.

The debt collector knows my financial situation and knows I can make monthly payments, just not the amount that they're asking (though they don't refuse what I can pay). And he also told me to call him once a week.

He told me to get a 2nd job so that I will be able to pay what they're asking. But with the apartment I live in, my rent raises with my income. So it could nearly double my rent and I'd essentially be able to pay very little more than I already can now. But I told him I'd look into getting a 2nd job but I can't guarantee anything. The fact is, I don't want to kill myself to be able to pay them an insignificant amount more than I already can.

I don't want to call this person on a weekly basis because I know that the calls will likely be recorded and consist of entrapping questions in which my answers will most likely be used against me later. Knowing this has me worried about calling this guy at all. Is calling him something I'm legally bound to do? What do I do?

Besides being morally responsible, are parents of a minor male legally responsible for child support if he gets someone pregnant? Please assume that the minor is too young to legally work (yes, it's happening...).

okay, so a few months ago i was in highschool. i was a senior and started dating a freshman, it was actually pretty normal in my school. When we started dating, i was 17 and she was 15. im 2 years and 8 months older than her. so im 18 now and shes gonna be 16 soon. So now i get to the problem. Ever since i turned 18, her parents have been extremely against her dating me, i've been with her for 8 months now without her parents approval, but a few days ago, her dad found out i was in their house with her while they weren't home. I realize the legal age of consent laws etc. and im not dumb, i simply stopped by on my way to class to see her for a little, seeing as how shes not allowed to hang out with me otherwise. Now her dad is threatening that if i continue to see her, i could get into serious trouble with the law. What i dont get is, as long as there is no sexual relations, it should be fine, no? and she will be 16 soon, can he still threaten me once she's at this age?

This is a car accident. My husband was doing his friend's favior, he drove the car back to his friend' house. On the way he stepped on the wrong botton then he crushed onto a car which was parking in front of him, the right side of the driver side. The door on the driver's right side was damaged. The driver asked my husband if he was ok, then he called the police and ambulance. He was helped into the ambulance later. But there was nothing about blood. (I hope and pray he is fine.) Now my questions are, is the car owner's insurance going to cover the loss of this accident or my husband's car insurance? Or both insurance companies have no liabilities? Will my husband be responsible for the loss of that driver ? Thank you very much.

My ex-wife is a dating a convicted and registered sex offender. He served 10 for aggavated sexuall assault of a child. The child was a six year old female. She has been knowing this about him for 6 months and I just find out because some of her friends told me. We have two small children and he spends time around them and spends the night. I've asked her repeatedly to not have him around them but she won't listen. I called Child Protective Services but they said I can't do anything if he is in compliance with his sex offender registration and has no restrictions for being around children. I've been trying to find out this information but have not been able to get it. I want to file for full custody of my children, but do I have enough information? I have been to court with her before and they are not fair with men at all. I am so afraid for my kids.

If I add the copyright symbol along with the name of the company (i.e disney) onto the cake, could I draw a character (such as Cinderella, Dora, etc...) and sell it in a shop? Would that still be considered against the law? I was wondering because with adding the copyright symbol, aren't you giving credit to the company?

Thanks :)

Do you agree with conservatives that Rumsfeld is immune to prosecution in the International Criminal Court?
Rumsfeld’s presence on French territory gives French courts jurisdiction to prosecute him for having ordered and authorized torture and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment of detainees in Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and elsewhere.

In addition, having resigned from his position of U.S. Secretary of Defense a year ago, Rumsfeld can no longer try to claim immunity as a head of state or government official. Nor can he claim immunity as former state official, as international law does not recognize such immunity in the case of international crimes including the crime of torture.

I was arrested for burglary although didn't actually commit burglary. My lawyer has been talking with the DA and has said I have one of two option. I can either go to trial (lots more money) but there's a 90% chance I'll win. Or I can get the charge dropped to a county ordinance disorderly conduct, pay a $100 fine, and court costs ($150). My question is if I take the second option, and I fill out a criminal background check will it show up as burglary? Or a County Ordinance? Or at all? What should I do?
What I really want to know is if someone runs a background check on me (like an apartment community), will it show up as burglary, disorderly conduct, or not at all, or other?

beaten, raped, and forced to eat feces by whites. If this really happend, these people should never see the light of day. However, we hear more about the Jena six than this, and this seems much worse. I find it VERY odd that he did not attend the rally. Shades of Tawana Brawley?
