My husband has a 10 year old son. In 2002 the birth mother (Alicia) let her parents adopt him for questionable reasons. I have the papers that my husband never signed. But there was a court date and he was unaware, didn't show and the adoption went through. I contacted her to see the child for the benefit of my children and she eventually agreed. She told the child that my husband was his father. She then preceeded to try to get my husband to leave me for her even though she's married too. Anyways, now we can't see the child. There is some question whether her parents still have custody or if she got her rights back and let her currents husband adopt him. I'm not sure what good this info will do me. But right now I'm just trying to figure out whatever I can to see what our options might be. This child now knows about his father and I feel like we should do something. Am I going to be able to obtain this info? I don't know if the adpt. was sealed or open. Any thoughts?

The American (United States Justice System) Vs. Canadian. Why is that the American's have the death penalty, more people on death row, many people in prisons across the nations. Whereas in Canada, the violence rate is much more lower, no death penalty, no death row. And the intensity of crimes is much higher?? Example, A few have gone out and killed there pregnant wives, and now they are being lined up to be executioned. How does this make sense??

when someone is sentenced to death, why does it take years to carry the sentence out?a case in america took 25 years before the sentence was finalised.was this not more cruel than his crime, keeping him alive, not knowing if the next day was going to be his last for 25 years?sure the death penalty is not a deterent to murder, nore is prison to criminals, that why jails are overcrowded and there are hundreds on death row,but it is a punishment.get jail same day when found guilty,of an ordinary crime, why not execution the next day when found guilty of murder???.

If you take 100 candy bars and leave $100, but the store (nominally) doesn’t accept them, will you be in legal trouble? (You are, of course, subject to any “We reserve the right to not serve any persons for any or no reason” sign, but that’s a separate issue doesn’t necessarily mean they can refuse the money.)

But 2 weeks later, Jill changed her mind about forgoing the balance sum $500.she now wants jack to pay her $500 also. Can she insist that jack pay her this $500 now?

HOA says it is my responsibility to pay for this even if the bill was not even in my name. The Title company swears it called the water service and that everything was brought to current before I moved it. Now the HOA is saying, they got this bill from the water company and I should be responsible for it since I bought the house.

I know a couple who rely heavily on charity from others. The wife doesn't work and the husband is a freelancer and they have three kids. To me, they chose for her not to work and they chose for him to freelance (he left his job). They use WIC and State/Federal funded health care for their kids. I often get a moocher attitude towards them as they do not attempt to better themselves in any way. In fact, it appears they don't want to make more money- in fear they might lose their freebies? They come off as really good people, but something about it just gets under my skin. Maybe because I work for everything I have and wouldn't have it any other way. I really want to know if other people feel as I do about this sort of thing??

Considering I live in the Philadelphia area I do have to question if the death penalty actually works. In the past couple months 4 police officers have been shot and one killed. It doesn't seem to be a deterrent. Also the costs of executing someone are much more than locking them up and throwing away the key.

I am so annoyed. In July i cancelled all my direct debits, due to money missing out of my account. It was only last week that i found out my tv liscense had been stopped to.
But as sods law would have it they came to my house todays and boy i was in for a shock. They have informed me i could have a thousand pound fine, cautioned me, asked stupid questions and made me feel like a criminal , all though i have had tv liscnce for ten straight years previous and never ever broke the law in my life. I am so up set and annoyed and will be writing a letter for what it is worth. As i know too many people who have massive fines, but irony is when your neighbors son breaks in to some house, steals thousand of pounds worth of property , get suspended sentence of a month and fifty pound fine, Sense i do not under stand.
Is this is what the world is coming too??

i had a misdemeanor hit and run on my motorcycle, i guess i had scratched a car with my saddle bag and did not notice and the camera on the street light got my license plate #'s. so long story short, i apply for this great job. get the job and have to wait for a background check 2 weeks later it shows up on my background check that there is a warrant issued for hit and run which is totally untrue! i drove 100 miles to the court and proved it was untrue with the clerk got paperwork sent it to the background check company and disputed their claim. the problem is.... is that this great company has already made up their mind dispute or not!!! can i possibly sue someone for this great misrepresentation

They now have no smoking in bars in Minnesota where I live, they are trying to make it illegal to smoke in your own apartment here now. They are talking about raising taxes on tobacco to pay for the new health care bill that just got passed. Isn't it time for a million smoker march on D.C. to smoke Congress, The Senate and House out? Why do the non-smokers have to be like the christians who force their beliefs on everyone?

I have been working 3rd shift for almost a year and have requested to return to day shift. I was told that no one else in my department could do it because they have families (married with children) and beings I do not I would need to remain on graveyards. Is this legitimite discrimination? If so what are my options?

Criminalisation of politics is on the severely high. Several Ministers in the Government as ,for example ,in Bihar, either booked for criminal offense including murder or some of them even convicted! Black money, muscle power, threat and intimidation by contestants in election even letting loose rowdy elements with underground goons has made every honest and patriotic people shy away from politics and public life.Every development work ridden with corruption is shabbily done and suffering a short life and in the process huge money is going in the drain. It appears the the whole future of India is on the shaky ground!Agree?

and it was completely her fault. she admitted it to the police and everything. now she had an insurance policy that was actually canceled but i didn't find out til later. she then gave me a policy and said it was her new insurance but it turned out she got that insurance 11 days after the accident. now i had to go to the hospital after the accident because i was 32 weeks pregnant so i needed to make sure my baby was ok. and the ems bill just came. i also have the tow truck fees that i paid and then it'll be 200 dollars to fix my car (i know a few mechanics) so all in all it'll be about 1700 that i'm asking for from the other party. i'm not going to try to sue them for all they're worth or anything like that. i should tho because all they've done is give me the run around over and over AND i ended up having my baby early and the doctors suspect the wreck was why. so if i take her to small claims court i would win right?
