My sister just was approved for disability and she has been fighting them for almost 2 years, including getting an attorney. How far back will they go back on back pay?

They should retro it to the time of the original application.

they will pay back to when they determined that your disability started..i was approved 30 days after filing but received back pay for 3 years because they said i had been disabled for that whole time

I have been waiting for three years. So no matter how long I have to wait you only get up to 12 month back pay? This does not make since to me. No income for Three years you get screwed out of the other two years when you can t work?

My neighbor just got approved after 3 years of waiting. They paid back to the date of filing.

Back to the original date of disability filing at least, perhaps back to the original date she first became disabled.

they only go back 90 days now and it takes a couple years for that reason saves ssa money
