If there's a Christmas Party given by a company are you responsible for people drinking if it's at a Hotel?

In my state, the host of a party can be liable if he/she allows a guest to become intoxicated and that guest kills or injures someone after the party. In your scenario, there would be joint liability on both the host and the hotel (in my state). If you want to learn more, try googling (name of your state) dram shop liability.

If it's a Hotel, then just charge a room to the company if you can't make it home. Maybe that is why they are holding it there. Everyone should always watch out for one another, so if you see someone heading out the door to drive home and you know they shouldn't, then stop them just like a best friend would do. Friends and Employees don't let one another drive drunk.

since that party is given by the company, i assume that most of the people attending the party are pretty much not minors anymore. so i guess yes, there will be some booze. but of course being drunk or whatever happens to you because you drink will be your responsibility. you're to old to be taught that what you knowingly consume is on your own already. take care and don't drink too much!!

Depends on the laws in your area. In some jurisdictions, the host is held responsible, in others the server, in others the drinker.

That of course is legally. Morally, I think that you should always stop people from drinking too much and driving if they have - no matter what your legal requirements are.

If it's your company or you're a company officer, it might be cheap insurance to provide limo or taxi transportation to those that have 'imbibed' too much.
