My husband's uncle is in a nursing home and they will not let him go until he finds a doctor where I live. They will not refer him to a doctor here. They are not giving us many answers and not returning calls right away. Do seniors have rights? Can't he just sign himself out? We are in Arkansas. What can they do legally? He is going to get a doctor here, but the nursing home wants a doctor to call them and any doctor in town will not because they have not yet seen him as a patient. We wnat him home for Thanksgiving. ~~Desperate for answers

What are the proper things to do before a trial date if someone is arrested for DUI (suspecting they failed the breathe test)? If the arrested person also has a good standing with the cops and they notified the Judge that they were on outstanding behavior the whole time and very cooperative. Would going to AA meetings and getting counseling help when trial comes around. (Or pre-trial meeting with the prosecutor and attorney) Would community service before the court date show a more positive side to the individual and help their case? Any other things that could be done to help resolve the issue and help in the eyes of the prosecutor or judge?

I paid 10% bale bond for someone and the person was told that if he does something that sends him to jail one more time, the person who got him a bail bond will have to pay the full bond. I just found out he has not paid his fines for this month. Could this make him go to jail? If so, what can he do to prevent that?

She doesn't OWN the office, she just works here, just like me. We have to break in to the supply room all the time cuz we lose the key, she even showed us how to do it. So, what would be the difference? I mean, I'm not gonna take anything, I just want to break in. (Her name's not even on the door)

They graduate from law school
They pass the Bar Exam

Yes they are overworked and may not be as dedicated to your case as a private attorney, but some really do work hard and want to help those in need.

I scheduled a physical check up with a dr. that was referred to me..the person who scheduled the appointment knew I was a new patient and scheduled me. When I got there I waited 1 hour finally they call me in (I should have left earlier). Assistant explains to me Dr. will only see me for first time consultation(nocheck up) and get to know me better and I have to schedule an appointment after for the physical... Wait wait...I waited 1 hour, your gonna run my insurance and your gonna do what you can do in 1 visit in 2 visit's instead? Hey I didn't go to play around I'm not gonna pay to "get to know the Dr." I don't feel my insurance or I should pay for that!! Why do I have to pay for 2 visit, when it can be done in one. I demanded my co-pay back and did not reschedule I felt lied to and almost ripped off...they gave me my money back..I think this falls into insurance fraud..

In a recent survey at California State University at Northridge, 96.1% said they think it is wrong to use abortion as a method of birth control.

http://str.typepad.com/weblog/files/ywam_csun_survey_071024d.pdf

I found that curious because there are so many people who are pro-choice. Apparently, there must be a lot of pro-choice people who think it's wrong to use abortion as a method of birth control. So I'm curious why the pro-choice people think that would be wrong.

Let me explain why this is a puzzle to me so you can better address my question. It seems to me that the only reason an abortion for any reason could be wrong is if the unborn is a human being with a right to life. If it's just a blog of tissue, I don't see why any justification for abortion would even be necessary, so a person ought to be able to have an abortion for any reason. It's no more immoral than having a bunyon removed. But if it is a human being with a right to life, then why be pro-choice?

I'm did a report for history and I was just wondering, how do people get guns in the US? Could anyone go out and get a gun as long as they don't have a criminial record? Or do they have to register?

Bounty hunters for instance, do they have legal rights to have a gun?

If you were inches from eviction or living in poverty, what would it take for you to consider stripping/prostitution/whatever to get the money you need?

Personally, I wouldn't stoop that far unless I was almost brown boxing it on the curb. But it depends on the situation for most people, I'm guessing.

Many will cry, No, we cannot restrict free speech. But is hate speech worth protecting? Is speech which derides a person because of his or her sex, color, or religion worthy of 1st Amendment protection? Note than in most European countries, they restrict Nazi (flagrantly anti-Semitic) speech, and they don't complain about how they feel "oppressed" or subjected to utter despotism...

Your thoughts?
