We have a general secretary in our office who answers phones, handles office memos, the usual. Lately she hasn't been giving me my messages and leaving me out of office memos, which in turn, makes me look bad. I have no idea weather this is intentional or if she's completely incompetiant. But I'm wondering if I should talk to her directly of if I should tell my boss first.

My friend sent a large box filled with my clothing to me using UPS. I never recieved the package and I checked online to see where the package was, the last place it was scanned was in jacksonville Florida. We called UPS several times because it has been 4 weeks. They finally said the package has been lost and they are putting a Trace on it. Apparently they may choose to compensate if they cant find the clothing. The problem is the guy at the store put the value of the clothes as $100 because they are used. The real value of the clothes is between $10,000-12,000. Does anyone know if i will be able to get the real value of the clothes or if I can sue them? Any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks

Should they be made to register themselves as sex offenders?
Should the government (state, local, national) register them so they can't avoid it in ANY way?
Should the just be imprisoned for life, to ensure that they can never hurt another person as long as they live?
And should they be set up with security details so they aren't harmed during their prison stay, or should they be left to the mercy of their fellow inmates- as every other felon is?

We were both on the lease together, but payed seperatly. She has not payed for two months now and we are going to be evicted. The eviction is going to go on my credit as well, and I am not happy. I have payed on time every month the entire time I have been here, so now I want to sue her for the damages to my credit etc. Does anyone know anything about this or if it is even possible to win this? Do you think a landlord in the future will consider me more if I show that I had sued over the eviction?

Thanks!

Before anyone jumps in and is opposed to National Health Care over the issue it is Socialism, yes it is. But a degree of Socialism is necessary to society, it is not the road to Communism as some people fear.
National Health Care already exists. Medicare covers Senior Citizens and the Disabled. Medicaid covers the poor, some of which have never had jobs (though most actually do have jobs) and many states have health care programs. So, it is the middle classes and much of the working poor paying in for the care of others. Where's your share?
I say the solution has been at hand since 1964. It' called Medicare. Like any other insurance, the system survives by healthy people contributing to the funds. And when needed the coverage is availably to them. I say make everyone eligible for Medicare. Half of the coverage is automatic, the other half voluntary. And our existing system of medical neglect might be costing us more.

I used to lend my ex-boyfriend large amounts of money when we were going out. I always made him sign a promissory note. Every time he defaulted, we re-wrote a new note so that the he kept his payments/debts current. Anyhow, we broke up but before I left, I made him sign a final promissory note. He has only paid 30 % of the debt and now its been 3 months since the deadline. The money owed exceeds what small claims court can handle. All the lawyers I have contacted want a 30 % contingency fee. I am confident I will win but I do not want to part with 30 % of my money…One lawyer said he could sue for the attorney fees but the judge might not grant that so he still wanted 30 %. Are there any free legal services in Massachusetts for cases like mine? Where can I find information on which lawyers do pro-bono work?

I got a DUI around a week ago. I have an Appt with the best lawyer in the town I got it in. Im getting a little anxious about the possible outcomes. I am guilty of it and the evidence is strong but it isnt foolproof. There was a wreck w/o any injuries. I havent yet spoke with my lawyer b/c he apparently is very good and booked for a few weeks.

I have 7 years Military(4 active marines) ,3 w/ National Guard, and my unit was just alerted for a Deployment in the 12 months.

My question is for current or former Lawyers or Police officers. Are there any type of plea bargains that I may possibly get? I am just trying to get a handle on the possible convictions and punishments.

A friend of mine was arrested for some criminal charges. Her bail was set by a magistrate. Well we have no financial means of coming up with the money. We cannot even set up a bail hearing until after the holidays. So IF the magistrate wanted to could he get rid of her bond, thus releasing her on her own recognizance?? Any advice please

My name is Dawn Stevenson (Williams). I am seeking an attorney whom is willing to take my case. I wish to pursue a lawsuit against child protective services. I have details on this when needed but to sum it up to see if its of interest to you, I was denied my right for due process amongst other things. My dependency case is now closed and I complied with all services offered to me. My 3 children are now back in my care. However, through out this whole process I was told I should have got paperwork allowing me to fight the accusations made against me which after everything is said and done I now realize I was not. How I found out was through my background check which says there is findings of abuse and neglect on my record in March of 2006. My children were removed in June of 2006 from my ex husbands care after he took my boys from my home without my permission breaking my protection order, I had my daughter in my care yet she was taken as well.
I figured there was a misprint on the March accusations because I had never even heard of this incident I had never spoken to any cps worker and further more was in domestic violence protection shelter at that time. Need I mind you that I am a registered nursing assistant and having these accusations on my record makes me unemployable in my field of work. I went to the cps office on 11/15/07 (after getting a phone call from my employer saying I have until 5 that day to take care of this or id be fired) and spoke to Carol Anderson and asked her about this March accusation and why I have these findings on my record. I asked for the names of the cps worker whom found these findings against me and I was denied the information. I asked for a copy of this and it is now being sent to me yet like I said I have never heard of this March incident at all. She then told me that they combined the March incident with the June incident yet when I told them that the June incident is based on my ex husbands actions they agree with me. Why were my children taken from me in the first place? Cps never came to my home to see how I lived prior to my children being removed…They also were very aware that my ex husband was abusing and stalking me. Why was I not given the opportunity to fight these so called accusations not only for this incident in March (which I never heard of) but also for the time in June. Cps had apparently wrote the letter and instead of sending it to me they simply filed it into my case and some how “forgot” to send it to me. Which I have the proof of via the certified letter that I finally received at the end of October of this year (over one year later and now that my case is closed) How is this right that Cps can just take my children from my care when I was doing everything in my power to protect them??? Why were my rights as a parent taken away from me being the victim of domestic violence and given to my ex husband the perpetrator whom need I mind you is now in prison, Even when I had a protection order stating that he is not to interfere. Why was it ok for cps to go to him to have him sign over my rights? Not only that but they asked him to sign over the rights and I was not even informed of this for almost 2 weeks after! Why was my children and I the ones that had to endure the pain of not being together for almost a year when the biggest crime I commited was leaving my ex husband and calling cps because I was fearful of their well being! Why was I not given my right as an American to fight these accusations made against me! Instead I was guilty until proven innocent. Since this I have had to pay hundreds in child support I lost out on so much precious time with my children, As of 11/15/07 I was fired from my job because of this on my background. Not to mention the impact it had caused my children this has forever changed all our lives and I have completely lost all my faith in the system. I realize not to many attorneys are willing to fight an organization such as CPS however please look at the facts and upon meeting me you will see I am not your typical CPS case. Thank You for your time.

i recently applied for a temporary job in woolworths over the christmas period. The application was only 1 page and consisted of asking for my name, address, telephone number, and the hours i am available to work.

I put down that i am available to work any hours any day of the week, so expected to at least get an interview. Yet for some reason i was not even offered an interview. I think this is because i am male, i know several other male friends who had the same experience and to make it worse i have one female friend who i know is unavailable to work evenings or weekends yet she got an interview.

I don't think i'm being paranoid because i walked through the shop and counted 13 female employees and 0 male employees.

Do you think this is enough evidence to take them to court?

i passed 2 parked patrol cars in a residential area and they immediately pulled out and got behind me and pulled me over for allegedly not signalling a turn.when i saw them i was acutely aware of my driving (spd lmt, sgnls, cmplete stop,etc..)and gave no reason for them to stop me,but they did before i was even 2 blocks away.he asked for d.l. and insurance and i told him i lost my d.l. the day before but as soon as the d.p.s. office opened monday i would(and did) get a new liscense.I also gave him all the info on the liscense and showed him some credit cards and other documents for id.He told me to step out of the car and asked me to open the trunk. When i balked at this he said,"I'll put it to you this way, either open it or I'm going to arrest you for no d.l. and open it myself".He then opened it, saw some electrical wire, and started questionig me about it.He said he thought it was stolen and confiscated it He gave me nothing to sign or anything to show he kept the wire?I went to jail

I want to suit the state for the amount of my toll violations. I used my ex wifes iPass when I drive to work, but the state says it has to be registered to my car, not hers, so they sent me a bill for 380.00! If they sent me a notice that I was being fined within say 30 days, I'd have fixed the problem a long time ago and paid the original fine, but waiting for a whole freaking year to send me something!?!? Any opinions?
