i know there are laws for how far away a patrol car can be parked from a speed limit sign to catch speeders (i.e., if the speed limit is changing from 65 to 55, they can't be parked right after the sign and catch people while they're slowing down). but i can't find any public documents with this information. does anyone know where i should look?

also, can they be parked behind a curve? what are the limitations of a radar gun when the officer is parked at the end of a sharp curve?

i'm obviously trying to fight a speeding ticket here. i want to find official documents, though, so advice on where to find this stuff would be more useful than just hear-say. thanks.

my question to all is why do you have to pay for healthcare when we in australia get it for free, is see many of your politicians go on and on about a "communist system" in which all doctors are paid the same, and paid less.

This is not the case here in australia, the doctors still are paid $145 per patient appointment, more for specialists and plastic surgeons.

How do you feel about having to pay for something that should be free? " a healthy population is a happy polulation, who pay more taxes, and live longer".

I got an email from a lawyer stating that he had a client that died and left a bank acount with a whole bunch of money in it. He needs to contact the next of kin before they seize the account, but he has had no luck in doing so. It just so happens that I have the same last name. He wants to set me up with all the appropriate documents, and then present me as the next of kin, splitting the money. I know this is BS, but I don't get how the scam works. Has anyone gotten this one before? It's in Malaysia where all this is supposed to go down. Mwa ha ha.

I was under the impression that employers had to pay full pay (obviously part made up of SSP) for a limited period. My father has applied for housing benefit etc but has been told he does not qualify. There is no way he can live off 72 pound per week and is seriously thinking about going back to work, this will be against doctors advice as he is currently waiting on major surgery

She just came across it and gave it to me today but it was dated for October 26th. I am so frickin confused!!! The citation, I supposidly got it in July for driving with a suspended license and this citation is under my maiden name and old drivers license # which doesn't even exist anymore! I changed my maiden name in February on my license because I got married and I even updated my address. I did get a citation in February for driving while license suspended but I paid that and even still have the receipt...I think I may not have taken the driver class though. Anyways, the address they sent this suspension warning to I HAVE NEVER EVER LIVED AT OR EVEN HAD IT ON MY LICENSE so how did they get it? Will this effect my current license? If so then why not send this directly to me at the correct address on my new license? I know I should call them but they aren't open right now and I would just like some input.

Ok. Recently I was arrested at my place of employment for a criminal charge. Well when the police officer came there and asked me questions I told him "I'm not answering anything. I want my lawyer." When I got down to the precinct I am again questioned by a detective without my lawyer. i feel they pressured me to talk even after i told the officer I want my lawyer. Were my rights violated? If so, that would make the arrest unlawful. The things I told them led to someone elses arrest. Could the other persons arrest and my testimony be thrown out due to the law "fruit of the poisonous tree"?

a publication in 2004 (in a newspaper).the picture published was of my house in colour (and address printed in article) I had just purchased and was related to a murder trial of a baby. the artical claimed that 'sniffer dogs' had searched the premises for the remains of the baby's body.i went to see a lawyer about this back in 2004 but he didn't appear promising - so I didn't proceed with it.
However, at work people had seen the article and spread the word and jokes were made in relation to the police digging up the
garden I had worked so hard on to find the remains of the baby.I was really offended by this and felt humiliated.I initially was proud of the purchase of my new home, but after the publication and jokes I felt embarrassed and didn't ask any of my work mates over to my home. (i didn't have a house warming party)Up till today I don't like to talk about my home - but people at work still relate it to me. the case in still in papers and people at work still talk about it.

Suppose everyone stops paying into social security and instead has funds deducted from their pay for universal health care. Many of the people currently paying into social security will recieve absolutely no benefit from it if they can't live long enough to collect it. Isn't your current health a bigger priority than your retirement? If you take an individualist standpoint on the issue of health care then I don't see why you would mind trading money given to the elderly and poor for money given to keep America's youth in the work force and contributing to society.

Okay, I work in a care home for Adults with mental health issues. On friday we had a new resident come to us whose going to be with us for aprox 2 weeks, COULD be perment. Anyway yesterday I had to call my deputy manager in as he had become very violent towards not only other residents but my staff aswel. (Im a senior). I tried to use what I had been taught in my challenging behaviour courses but unfortunatly we are only taught to "TALK" them out of their violent outbursts. We are told we are NOT allowed to defend ourselves in any way, shape or form. Meaning we are not allowed to use self defence, or ANY forms of restraint. We wouldnt be able too anyway as none of us have had this training.

My question is.....After yesterday two of my staff are petrified of him and are talking about leaving if he stays permently, I have to agree with them. My partner works with learning disabilities and they ARE trainned in restraint and self defence.

India has been the largest producer of milk and milk products in the world ever since it overtook the US in 1997.
We produce much more than our consumption requirements and there's plenty left for various processed foods such as sweets, yogurt, cheese, ice-cream etc...
Yet adulteration is rampant. Children die after consuming poisonous spurious milk made from chemicals such as Urea.
Just for earning a little profit, people's lives are being exposed to this grave threat. A few greedy people are running such rackets and the worst part is, that THEY HAVE NO FEAR OF LEGAL CONSEQUENCES. The legal penalty is neither potent nor does it generate any apprehension in the minds of these criminals.

Shouldn't adulteration of food be considered equivalent to cold blooded attempt to murder and be equally punishable by law?.

I was watching the news the other night and they were doing a follow up on American prisons and they said that America has more people in their prisons than any other country because 35% of them are illegal immigrants. Is this fair that we have to take care of these criminals? Or should we make our laws tougher on illegals and put the death penalty into play when it comes to an illegal immigrant?

I'm curious how many parents at home enforce this law. In my family, we drank wine as part of our customs from the time I was a little girl, so it was always there if I wanted it. No one in our family ever got drunk or became an alcoholic, even far distant relatives. When I lived in all Freshman dorms in college, I was the only one on my hall who DIDN'T drink, because it was no big deal to me and I thought the guys who drank and barfed all over the hall were stupid and gross. Then last Christmas, while having dinner with my husband's family in Iowa, I offered the 17 yr old nephew seated next to me some wine and his mother said "Oh no, he can't have that, he's not 21." I mean I know in a restaurant or bar you have to be 21 but I didn't know people didn't let responsible older teenagers drink on a holiday at home if they're spending the evening at home with the family watching movies...??? This seemed ridiculous to me but I guess it's different values.

I just came accross an article which says that according to police reports in Canada, 79% of people Taser-zapped by police there were not armed. And the author of this article says this statistic suggests that police use Tasers as a quick means to keep low risk suspects in line.
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20071118/taser_reports_071118/20071118?hub=TopStories

But this practice of giving very painful electrical shocks to unarmed suspects in order to make them comply sounds a lot like torture to me. Actually, Saddam Hussein and many other dictators in other places have routinely used electrical shocks to torture their prisoners into submission.

Is the use of Tasers on unarmed suspects a kind of torture that is now allowed in Canadian society?

Does anyone agree with me that our government should send all these murderers and child molesters etc.. over to Iraq rather than our own upstanding men and women who join the service to make something of their lives. Discipline and respect and honor...The people in jail should fight for our country to make up for their mistakes and disrespect that they did and who cares right? Does anyone agree with that?
