So I was following my friend to his place, and we were going pretty fast. There were like 3-4 cops, and as soon as I saw one turn the lights on, I tried to get away, and took an exit. But he was right on my tail so i decided to stop. On my ticket though he wrote the make of a car as Lexus, so in court, should I admit to speeding, say that I was going around 85-90, adn he probably clocked a lexus going 106?

I am a manager who is having issues with an employee. This past thursday night, I received a phone call from one of my employees stating that she has a doctor's note excusing her from work Friday and Saturday. I asked her to bring in the doctors not so that I can document and excused her absences.

When I realized that she also worked Sunday, I called to clarify that if her note states "Friday/Sat" only, than she has to work. Right when her shift started on Sunday, she came in with her doctor's note and it read:

please excuse ***** from School until November 20th. When I pointed it out that the note stated "school" instead of "work", she gave me a "wtf" look. Hence, I told her that accroding to complany policy, if she cannot produce a legitimate Doctor's note excusing her from work, than she may be terminated.

So my quesiton is: Just because the note says "school" does note mean that it relates to work, also, right? Keep in mind that the chit is 16.

thanks!

After a fair trial, and allowing time for ONE appeal, why do we not serve justice by executing murderers in America? How did our society get to the point where we defend or feel sympathy for those who prey on the innocents in our country? How did we get to the point where we allow them to sit on death row for so long, costing us millions while lawyers play appeal games to keep them alive? I feel complete disgust over this issue. Someone help me make sense of it all.

Last night my husband and I took our 15 month old out to dinner. Half way through, I ordered her an orange juice cup. She had a couple of sips, an my being the mom I am, I decided to taste it. Thank God I did. There was alcohol in it. My husband told the manager and the manager took it to the bar and came back stateing that there was Jose Cuervo. We dont drink so I was shocked. The manager apologized over and over so did the waitress. My husband told them a couple of words and we carried on. My mind raced. What ifs went running. If she drank it all and we took her to the hospital???So we left. My child is perfectly fine. Then when we got home,I called the police and got a deputy to meet my husband at the resturant. The deputy logged it and the manager admitted. No police report was filed because it was not intentional nor was it a crime.

Of course it is, but I am wondering if there is any legal actions that can be taken.

The Story: My friend, who is black, was dating this girl, who is white, and they had been dating for a few months when her father found out. I have know the girls family for ever and he has alway been a super white-supremist, that is why the daughter hid the realationship from him. BUt after he found out he grounded her, took her phone, car, etc, away and forced them to break up.

I am just wondering if there is anything legally I can do to help him out...I am not sure on the laws, but this seems extremely unjust to me.

Just seeing what you all think.

Thanks.

My fiance and I have been together for 8 months now. I am 23 and he is 28. He is Dominican and used to live in New York. He is licensed from the police academy to carry a gun. I asked him if he's ever used it. Last night he told me that when he lived in NY 5 years ago he was on the subway and was wearing an expensive jacket with expensive shoes. A man came and told him "Your shoes and jacket look nice, what do you think to take them off for me.." and my boyfriend got close to him and told out his gun and said "What do you think about my taking this out?". Then the guy went away.

Is this illegal or is this called defending yourself? I want to know if this is something he can get in trouble for. He is such a kind and good mind and doesn't start trouble but is ready to protect himself and his family if need be.

Thank you~

'Many men are finding out they are not the father after all'

"New 2007 figures compiled by the company show that one in 4.5 paternity tests exclude the man as the biological father - a record high since DNA testing began 10 years ago."

Afterall, some of these men have raised children or paid tens of thousands of dollars for child support for a child that isn't biologically theirs.

Put yourself in their position and ask yourself if that's fair.

This can all be prevented if mandatory paternity testing is employed, regardless of whether the woman was honest or not.

Thoughts??

Point being. before he took the deal was told by his public defender, she didnt want to take it to court, because a childs name was involved. She told him that it didnt matter what proof they had,a judge would not listen. All this started with his wifes x husband, because a year and a half before they had filed a complaint against the x husband for the exact thing my son got
charged for.The state police had that report,My son also took 3 polygraphs and passed,he had all kinds of witnesses .There was even proof that he had not even lived with them in the time it occurred. So the question is is there any kind of law that can have this reopened even if you have no money.

A woman was constantly rubbing herself to me, kissed me at the work place because she was going away, and when she came back surprised me at the parking lot. She invited me to her car according to her she has presents and souveneirs. She told me how was her vacation and all the know she was all over me. I was so numb i just sat there and she did all the work. Afterward, she said " this is ok, there is nothing wrong on this." I did not talk to her for weeks and she was almost 24 hrs calling me at my cell and crying. I later on found out that she did it because she wants her live partner to know that she has found someone else. The part side is I am legally married.

would be a good idea,I am reffering to murderers and such.
I think also it would be a more effective deterent, than giving them everything lots of ordinary hard working law abiding folk cannot afford.

politicians routinely lie, investigators lie to obtain confessions. ie. your friend said you did it, etc...police reports are often embellished.

I have a friend charged with the following:
Forgery VA Code 18.2-172
Uttering VA Code 18.2-172
Grand Larceny VA Code 18.2-95

Scenario: A relative of hers gave her some of her checks and asked her to write them and get money. My friend wrote them at Wal-Mart etc. and the realtive denies having anything to do with it. Two things:
1) Will any of those charges come off if it is found that the relative was involved?
2) Is it possible my friend could get no jail time?
She has no record whatsoever. It was a conspiracy more than anythin.. Any feedback, any opinons whatsoever please..
Thank You

http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2007/11/17/police_to_search_for_guns_in_homes/

The Boston Police are launching a program where they will have police check homes of teenagers for guns. They will be warrentless and they will ask permission, and leave if they are asked too.

My problem is that I am sure they will be targeting uneducated citizens, will these people know they can refuse? Is this a program esigned to get you used to warrentless searches?

The ACLU opposes this and so do I, a rightwing extremist.

Can anyone; fom any political perspective defend this?
