Can you prove you didn't have it in the fridge for a year?
or worse not in the fridge
You may have yesterdays receipt but is it for that particular yogurt, or another
Tesco has more money, time, patience than you, hold your breath
You are also obliged to read the date before you eat it

Your claims are utter rubbish. We went years and years without having sell by dates on foodstuffs. The sell by date is only a guide and also has a recomended use by date.Yogurts if kept in a fridge exceed both these dates by at least 1 week. You have to prove that the yogurt was responsibly for your sisters illness.Take it back to Tescos they will exchange it for you and perhaps give you one besides. You appear to think you have found a way of cheating one of the most reputable stores in the UK they have seen it all before stop winging and ignore it.

This sounds like a deliberate attempt to get compensation. I see no proof that the item in question was sold after the sell by date as all the complainant says is that it was out of date. When? probably not till after it was taken out of the shop and probably kept for a week or so.

take the yogurt and
your till receipt back to the store
you will get the money ,you paid for it back
weather you will get compensation ,or not, i cannot say.
as it is difficult,to tell if , the yogurt is, to blame for your sisters illness ,
However.......Tesco is very fair on these occasions,
They will need to send, a sample of the yogurt in question ,back to their laboratory for tests .
It would also be helpful ,if your sister was seen by her doctor and he were to isolate ,the germ that she is suffering from .
i hope she is soon better
, and you get a satisfactory result from Tesco's

Yo can always take i back if you have any left. Or just simply go to the store and complain. Most will replace the product.
It is actually the responsibility of the consumer to check expiration dates on purchases.
Think of it this way, they did not sell you expired yogurt you bought it.

The smart thing would be to read the label beforehand. I really wonder what this youghurt stuff is? Maybe I am dumb, but before one goes about complaining to get compensation, shouldn't you at least learn to spell?

If you have the receipt to show what day you purchased the product then all you have to do is return it. But for future reference you may want to start reading the expiration dates on packages, they are there for your safety. Take a little responsibility here will ya?

was it in the reduced section?? if so you've got no chance to complain, but if it was a normal priced product, and it was in date(most yoghurt will still be good some time over date) then call the store in question and describe your issue, they will do something about it if its a product thats gone over date.

It is highly unlikely that your sister was ill due to yoghurt - it's milk for goodness sake - unless it was a year out of date! If it were me, I would simply move on. Mistakes happen there is not need to go around suing people or turning it into a money making exercise.

You should have looked at the date on the package, you know when you go grocery shopping, you check the dates on perishable goods, you check the eggs in the carton to make sure they arent cracked, you select your produce and fruit only after you inspect it for quality
