well i guess that is all up to you and your conscience and your morals and the seriousness of the offense.

police officers dont get overtime unless they have to go to court. so they will give you a ticket a lot of times and then say if you want to contest it go to court. do you follow me? excuse the pun.

what you do is go to court and contest it.

if it is not serious then go alone. unless you can afford a lawyer.

otherwise if it is serious then get a lawyer.

also if it is your first offense of that particular charge then dont take a lawyer. if you have done that before and got convicted of it not just charged try your best to get some type of a lawyer. and not only that but it always helps to talk to the judge. dont sing on your self but at the same time talk and be serious and sincere.

the police office acts as the prosecutor in the less serious charges.

also if you need or have a CDL commerical drivers license then you need to make sure you dont get convicted of that charge or get it reduced.

i was talking to a judge on my first offense of reckless driving and he made it seem like he was going to lower it and call it something less. he didnt and he gave me $300.00 in court cost 3 years ago! he gave me a misdemenor.

i only recently found out he gave me a misdemnor.

you always always want to fight it no matter if your guilty or not for your best interest. unless they have some real certian proff like a good recording or like pictures or multiple witnesses.

if you have a suspended license and you have a friend who can say he was driving or can say you loaned out your vehicle then you better try that but dont get caught lieing. if the officer saw you with out a doubt and was playing dumb or what ever its always best to be honest because if the judge finds out your lieing thier gonna fry your butt.

its a big game of money and power and respect. go to court clean cut and shaved and well dressed but not to nice or they think you got money and hit you with a few thousand in fines.

also if it is serious ask about a deffered finding!

also call the courts a few times to the clerks office. the courts will change your dates on you if you dont have a lawyer to suit them best and not even tell you and then you got a capius which is missing your court date and they will pull a warrent for your arrest in minutes and your have to go to jail and then get bonded out or stay in jail till your court date.

take this as serious as you can the courts dont play and 90 days in jail will ruin the next 1 to 5 years of your life.

make sure you take plenty of slow deep breaths while in the court room youll need all the oxygen you can get as yur heart will beat faster and youll be nervous and oxygen helps you to think and be calm. also drink a lot of milk as it helps to keep you calm because the calcium works between your brain and your muscles telling your muscles when to fire and work right.

This smacks of "Big Brother" in a police state. I'd tell him to get off my property unless he has a legal warrant.

i never heard of that,. it sounds like more than a minor traffic violation. was it a hit and run?

That thing about anything you say can and will be used against you seems to apply.

I wouldn't answer any questions unless he had a warrant.

Sounds like you've been caught. They can do that.
