So I was following my friend to his place, and we were going pretty fast. There were like 3-4 cops, and as soon as I saw one turn the lights on, I tried to get away, and took an exit. But he was right on my tail so i decided to stop. On my ticket though he wrote the make of a car as Lexus, so in court, should I admit to speeding, say that I was going around 85-90, adn he probably clocked a lexus going 106?

I completely understand my mistakes, and have no problem paying the fine. But the problem is that i do not know what to say when i go to court. I want to take defensive driving, community service or whatever to get this off of my record. Any suggestions will be helpful. I am from Dallas, TX, and this is my first ticket ever.

You should tell the truth... if you were going 106, then you weren't going 90... Just tell the truth. The judge will believe the cop anyway.

Can you do something? Yes, pay the ticket, be thankful you didn't kill someone and (if you keep your license) SLOW DOWN!
Dang "I need some help getting away with breaking the law" questions are the worst! You should have received tickets for engaging in a speed contest on a public road, driving to endanger, driving to elude, and reckless driving! Be thankful that the officer cut you some slack, and someone "up there" was looking out for the other drivers on the road.
IMHO there is no reason for going 106 mph in 60 mph zone.

I got a speeding ticket and the cop said I drove a black sedan and I drove a red SUV. I still had to pay the fine.
You can try and fight it but the judge will probably not care. If you were speeding that fast, you're lucky you didn't get a reckless driving. The judge will probably tell you that and find you guilty anyway. Small details like that are insignificant to a judge if the cop can still ID you as the defendant.

In Ontario, where I am, any kind of error of fact on a ticket usually allows you to beat the ticket. The ticket refers to a Lexus, you have a BMW therefore its false therefore it should be thrown out. You may want to tray a para legal to get the best chance of it being thrown out. In your state do you have former cops that run traffic ticket specialist businesses. We have a couple here and they'd be cheaper than a lawyer.

wow, maybe the guy was just having an off day. i can't stand the fact that because you have a "nice" car that you think you can get away with this. who the hell cares what kinda car he wrote down, admit you were speeding and pay the fine. if you can speed then you most certainly have the money to pay for it. and how stupid of you to try and get away, if he noted any of that down, i'm sure the fine will go up even higher. so be careful what you say and how you say it.

You should hire a lawyer now. In North Carolina that ticket would cost you your license for a year and if he put that you tried to run that could be 6 months in jail. The charges are too serious for you to admit anything. Get a good lawyer and do exactly what they tell you to do.

It was a minor error, as the cars look similar. Pay the ticket unless an attorney advises you otherwise.
You say "Your Honor, I accept full responsibility and apologize to the Court for my misconduct. I respectfully request lenient treatment for this first offense."

That kind of error won't hold water, as long as the license plate number and the state on the ticket are correct.

It's called a typographical error, easily remedied in court.
