Dont know bout this ine but i have to admit that it'd be a great idea...
As stated above, the US the age is 21 and they don't have anything like the "binge drinking" problem that we do.. Maybe if the age was raised to 21 from 18 it would help with the problem... Also in the US they dont suffer from the ned/chav culture that we have, maybe this is something we SHOULD be copying from the US instead of some of the dodgy stuff we do copy..

Politicians and drinks manufacturers have dismissed a call by a chief constable to raise the legal drinking age to 21.
Shops and pubs are told ask for valid ID, think 21 not 18 and if in any doubt, refuse the sale.

nope. they have considered raising the drinking age for years but has never happened. Mainly because pubs and clubs would lose millions in lost revenue from students.
