Well, you have a deep question dont you! I think it depends on the circumstances. First of all yes revenge is illegal, but I believe that if it is justified it should be legal. Here's an ex. I read that a jury found a husband innocent for killing his wife because she was cheating on him, but found him guilty for killing the man she was with! I dont think cheating on a spouse should warrent killing, mabe a good beating...LQTM...No, but seriously good question! I dont really know how to answer. I guess it depends on the judge jury and lawyer!

What are you doing for revenge? Are you living a better life? Having a great attitude in spite of the other person? Then, no. Revenge is not a crime.
BUT, if you are staying up late making lists of things that directly oppose the 10 Commandments, then, yes, Revenge would be a crime in that instance...
You would be punished appropriately to the crime. Using an excuse that "I did it because the other person deserved it" will not go over well with the jury.

Anything that the law states is illegal is always illegal whether it is done first or as revenge.
If someone hit you, you should call the police and only defend yourself if under attack; but if you hit in revenge, that would make you abusive too.
Even if you smack a child for behaving badly, you would be abusive.
This is the nature of morals, that you do not cancel out a crime with another crime.

Seeking revenge is morally wrong. You are better than that. It would really depend on what type of revenge you're seeking. Things could run into the line of being illegal or at the very least be reason to obtain a restraining order against you. Either way you should just adopt the attitude that you have better things to do with your time and better people to do them with.

Revenge is not a crime. It's what you do to take your revenge that is a crime. And depending upon what you do, you will be punished accordingly.

Revenge isn't illegal, but if whatever act you are doing to get revenge happens to be against the law, then you can be arrested for commiting that act.

Revenge is only a crime if the act you committ is against the law -- even if they committed a crime against you first.
Say for example, someone threw paint at your car - that's vandalism. But if no one catches them and you decide to get even and do the same thing - it's STILL vandalism.
The fine/punishment would depend on the crime and the state.
They say the best revenge is living your life better than they do...'

Depends on what the revenge consists of. If the act that you commit as part of the revenge is itself a crime then yes it is a crime. If for instance you simply give the person the cold shoulder and convince others to give him/her the cold shoulder then it isn't a crime.

Revenge is not a crime in itself, but the act that you're doing IN revenge may be.
If you hurt my feelings and I blow up your car in revenge, this is illegal.
If you hurt my feelings and I say something mean about your mom, this is not illegal.
