Across the U.S., classical music seems to be a slowly growing as a method to combat crime in urban cities. Just recently I read a article about how the city of Hartford, CT wants to play music in Barnard Park in hopes of getting rid of the drug dealers and hookers who hang out there. What do you think of this idea?

Cont,
Why does the ministry still allow hawker centres and public restaurants to sell their rice and soup and hot soya bean water in plastic thermos containers? And sell packets and packets of hot food in Polistyrin packets. These hot food can release Dioxin a cancer causing agent. Surely should some one go for cancer treatment at Govt. Hosp, the Govt will be spending lots of money on the Patient.

My roomate and I rented a mobile home. I moved out but he stayed in it. I paid the whole deposit and he didn't help at all with it. The landlord is saying i have no deposit coming back to me. Anything that needed to be done to the house was well under the amount of my deposit. I have also been told if I moved out and he stayed in the home that he takes it as is. And since he didn't pay any of the deposit. He used his own money to fix some stuff instead putting a deposit down. The landlord said it took all of the deposit to fix the house and I owe him more money and he wants it or he is going to take me to court. I am in Florida.

I want to put classical music on my website. I know that classical music that was written 200 years ago is in public domain now. But what about the recording ? Does the date of the recording make any difference for the copyright to be enforcable ? If yes, what is be the cut-off date ? I read somewhere that is 1972, is that true ?

I came in contact with this woman through a penpal program.
Her sentence is 20 years. Elsa was "convicted" of conspiring with a friend to kill her [Elsa's] husband, during an unfriendly divorce and custody battle. Both Elsa and the friend deny the existence of any such conspiracy, despite the fact that the friend was three times offered a reduced sentence if she would testify against Elsa. The verdict in Elsa's first trial was thrown out because of the use of testimony from a former lawyer of Elsa's, despite the fact that his testimony should have been covered by attorney-client privilege. She was retried and is now in prison. The worst problem of all is that Elsa's children are now in custody of their father, and I have in hand an abundance of written material from professionals in the field of child abuse, said materials making it clear that the man had, indeed, abused the children--apparently both sexually and by use of violence. Can anybody give me any ideas of sources for help?

a girl i know who is 20, had 3 kids, was on drugs really bad and didnt have a place to live. she was going from place to place with whoever would let her stay. Bottom line, the DHS was called and she failed her drug test and didnt have a job, a car, and couldnt provide proof of residence anywhere so they put them temporarily in custody with family. she was given a chance to straighten up, get a job and go to rehab and get them back. she did nothing except keep wandering from place to place doing more crack and sleeping with every guy that would do her. After a year, they terminated her rights and the oldest is in full custody of the girl's grandma, the middle one is in the custody of her dad's grandma and the youngest was recently adopted by a nice family. Now she is pregnant again and still in the same situation. do you think she should be able to keep it even though she wont change? and what do you think the DHS is likely to do about this new baby.

I am a manager at a hotel. First, I was hired for a sales entry level position, but because of my experince in a more senior position I was giving the Sales Manager position. Even do my job offer letter stated EMM (which is the entry level position). My pay stayed the same as an EMM. I was given a desk on the back section of the office with 4 other hispanics (even though I was suppoused to have an office because of the new position I was given). I did go to HR about this, but before anything was done I was suspended. My boss overheard me speaking with a recruiter that contacted me. The whole time I have been working for the company I've felt spoken down to and not apreciated even do I am the first one to get there and last one to leave. Number one in sales for the hotel, so they cant say is because lacck of productivity. Not enough done the Assistant went thru the company laptop and walked in on a mmeeting with myself, the hr director and sales director and showed sexy pics of myself.

My half brother does. My mother is 89, has suffered 2 strokes but still mobile and except no longer driving pretty much self sufficient. My half brother charges her $5500 a month for a bedtoom and her own bathroom. Also acquired 4 houses she had owned, each on 5 acres and worth over $500,000 each. The step brother really doesn't need the money. His wife drops several thousand dollars of that each week with a couple visits to the casinos. Both drive 2007 Cadillacs as well and besides his home in a gated community has a 2006 Provost Motor home (been years but about 1997, those started at $850,000)

My input, DISPICIBLE! A half sister asked her to live with her (Anchorage Alasks)free. I would ask her but live in a travel trailer on a 30 degree hill. Were my circumstances just a bit different. She could live with me free. As is, I could provide something comfortable for her for less than $1000. And wouldn't accept more than necessary.

Our owner in Pasadena California, keeps trying to fix the sink and shower tub so it doesnt clog up anymore, but it keeps breaing down three days later. He's being cheap when he can hire a professional to do the job. He also ignores our calls when we tell them the sink and shower arent working.
aint it against the law for owners to do the job themselves instead of hiring a professional. can we sue him? or get him arrested?

Im from Wisconsin and there was a crime scene about two or three years ago in my backyard. A man was shot to death by a police officer. I've been wanting to enlarge my garage making it longer because its small. The government doesn't allow it. The garage has two bullet holes that were shot from the suspect. It went through the garage and out of it.They say its still a crime scene and the case is closed after the police officer committed suicide after posting bail. Is there any law I could use against the government to allow me to begin construction because the government has postponed this for two years. In that time I could of had a garage. Any suggestions on what I can do. I want to have as much back up info before talking to a district attorney.

I bought a used car from a dealer in California, in 2006, yesterday we went to trade it in and they ran a carfax report, come to find out there is frame damage on our car. When we bought the car we asked them if it had ever been in an accident, they said no. It was not under warranty or certified. Do I have any legal recourse? I would have never bought the car if i knew there was frame/structual damage to it.
