Cont,
Why does the ministry still allow hawker centres and public restaurants to sell their rice and soup and hot soya bean water in plastic thermos containers? And sell packets and packets of hot food in Polistyrin packets. These hot food can release Dioxin a cancer causing agent. Surely should some one go for cancer treatment at Govt. Hosp, the Govt will be spending lots of money on the Patient.

It depends on the individual plastic. If the temperature of the food is below 212'F, then you don't have any problems with Polystyrine. As for Dioxin, you can get it from a myriad of other things in MUCH higher amounts - like BOTTLED WATER.

Perhaps we do not have a watchdog body that can confirm the dangers, and enforce such findings.

Yes plastics are dangerous for containment of hot cooked food.
