I believe that schools should allow a few minutes of prayer time in the morning, and those who do not take part in any part of worship could just have some quiet or silent reflection time. I don't feel that they should try too hard to affiliate the time with one religion but in todays fast-pace world I feel that there should be some time allowed so that people have time to figure out, and be grateful for, what is truly important in their lives.

No country should have mandatory prayer/act of worship in schools. Not everyone is of the same religion or has a religion. Mandatory religious services in school would just make those of different religions feel uncomfortable and out of place. Its hard enough to get kids to go to school without making them feel uncomfortable about their beliefs.

No.
Why force religion upon everyone? I go to a church of England school but even we don't have a daily act of 'worship'.

It depends what you mean by worship.
If you include a generic "thought for the day" piece of moral guidance, like "it's not nice to lie" etc, absolutely. Something esoteric and mono-faith- no.

No - That's hardly fair on people that have no religious faith. Why should school children be forced into religion?

No, and neither should any other country. Such things should be voluntary. It's bad enough you have a state religion already. One more reason I'm glad I live in the States. . . .

schools teach about all religions through the curriculum. most schools are multi cultural so it is not really appropriate to enforce a particular belief.

Well it used to be - n that was when I was at school, only junior school tho. Dunno tho - lot of religions out there, though we used to be a Christian country, think its best if they stick to like a reflective time.
