While sitting in the parking lot late at night with one of my friends, a cop car pulled up next to us. He shined his light inside and asked what we were doing. He didn't believe we were just talking, so he came over and asked for our licenses. After talking for about five minutes, he told me to unlock the back door. I unlocked the back door for him, but he opened the door and he never asked for permission to search the vehicle. He then claimed to have found a marijuana leaf, and asked if anyone smoked marijuana in the car previously. I said one of my friends did and then told me to step out of the car. He then patted me down, and searched my pockets, where he found a bag with a couple grams of marijuana and my pipe. After, he repeatedly asked me if I could buy marijuana from my dealer, and threatened to check back if I didn't call his partner to provide him with information. Can I still argue that the cop did an illegal search of my vehicle in court? What about entrapment?

The $500 cam from a bounced check h wrote me, but never paid back, so I have the proof from the bank. my brother checked into a a hospital for depression and suicidal thoughts. he was there for almost 3 weeks and the doctors started to ignore him. in these hospitals they do rounds on patients every 15-30 minutes to make sure they are safe. well my brother killed himself around 2am and they found him at 4:30am, which means they were not doing their rounds or they would have found him earlier. people have told me that since he was in the hospitals care that it is medical malpractice.

What arguments could you offer for or against appointing people to jobs solely on the basis of the results of a competitive examination?

Or so it seems. They ticket them for little things, and then send them to jail knowing they can't pay the fines.
Why ticket them in the first place?

Is there a law that prevents me from using various items that belong to my small town? We have various mowing equipment, a snow plow, and a wood chipper for our town and certain people have asked the mayor if they could use these items for home projects and they have been given permission by the mayor to do so. Does the mayor have that authority? I think think the taxpayers pay for these and they should only be used for the city. Also what about the liability to the city while they are in use while on loan?

BOSTON -- Lawmakers in Massachusetts will consider a proposed ban on spanking children in the state.

Boston television station WCVB reported that the issue is set for debate at a Statehouse hearing Wednesday morning.

The Boston Herald reported that State Rep. Jay Kaufman filed the spanking ban petition at the request of an Arlington, Mass., nurse who wants Massachusetts to become the first state in the country to stop corporal punishment.

If this proposal does become law and parents are caught hitting their children who are under the age of 18, they could be charged with abuse or neglect, WCVB reported.

I would like to be able to use the ladies or gents ( ha ha) and NOT get harrased by a toliet attendant, who lets face it is usually foreign or black ( not got anything against them, Im just pointed out that ive never seen a white british one).

Im expected to pay a £1 when the squirt me with cheap purfume or when they harrass you to buy a lollypop.

Is it a cultural thing, when some one says no thanks that they sill persist in helping your "freshen up" and taking a pound of you for the privillage.

I was thinking of using the gents, instead, but i have heard that the toilets attendants in the gents shout " no splash no gash" before spinking you with old spice or brut against your will.

What laws do we have to stop these people?

Im not addvocating violence or anything. But lets say you have terminal cancer and your HMO denies you coverage and you will certainly die because they are cheap. Since they give such little value to your life, should you reciprocate?

I was the Accounting manager, Payroll manager and Essentially the HR manger of a medium sized company...on average, there were just over 100 employees at any time, and I made it my business to make sure I knew everyone. One of the employees was a cook in the hotel. He was regarded by the kitchen manager as her go to guy, and always worked very hard, would be available anytime he was neeed..and he always worked lots of overtime. Just a decent, hard working guy who everyone seemed to like.

SO he leaves, and takes a job at the local jail as a cook. I read in the newspaper, that this guy was charged for Intentionally leaving a kitchen door open and letting two criminals escape. Now everyting about this guy tells me there is NO WAY he left it open on purpose. Do you guys think i should try to contact him and offer to give a character reference, or should I stay out of it...I really have enough troubles of my own......what should I do?

A law maker is trying to pass this law in New England. If you are caught or accused of spanking your child or children, they can be taken away and you could face a hefty jail time. Should the government be allowed to tell us how to raise our kids??

i ask this because I recently visited Australia and was taken aback by its brilliance. I was in awe @ how well the country seemed to be administered, and how civil people were. I later found out that the Australian Government a few years ago made it clear to muslims wishing to reside in Australia, that no sharia law would be acceptable and that if muslim migrants in Australia wished to abide by Sharia law and not the laws of their nations, they were better off going back to their own countries where sharia laws took prescedence over common sense and universaly accepted ways of living.

Why is it that so many muslims adapt with the times and cultures of the nations they settle into, but a select few don't ? why do those select few then get the attention they want - by being media coverage (which i personaly believe they shouldnt as theyre a waste of space) ?

its simple - if you hate the west or any civilised part of the world, dont go there! stay in your own home and be happy i say.

My BF and I are writing up an agreement. This agreement has not been finalized, nor has it been signed. We were trying to agree on shared property and I have now changed my mind. Is this unfinished draft agreement legally binding? There is no verbal contract.

I have signed a TR1 document and a Charge document and they have been sent off to my ex's solicitor for my ex to sign both docs and then his solicitor sends them to the Land Registry to be registered. Both docs have important clauses that took ages to agree.
Trouble is after I have signed them I do not see them again. i.e I do not see them after my ex has signed them.
They have pulled all kinds of dirty stunts trying to insert unfair clauses that were not in the Court Order, but we eventually got the documents in line with the Court Order.

My fear is that my ex's solicitor may have tampered, altered wording etc: AFTER I had signed.

The documents aren't numbered Pg 1 of 3 etc: and on the TR1 doc there is a page that comes AFTER the signature page that contains clauses vital for my protection. If that page were to accidently become detached and lost there would be no way of knowing.
Would a solicitor be likely to do that?
Would he be risking getting into serious trouble?

Judge orders a paternity test to be done. In the paperwork it says that the potential father, who is responsible for paying for the test, has already already paid for it. But when you arrive to the county prosicuters office to have the test done you over hear the potential father telling the secretary, whom he knows, that he doesn't have the money to pay for it. And states that he can't touch his savings account (which we think is non exsistant), and that he is going to have to see if he can get it from his brother. But, the sec. says that she will hold of mailing out the test till the end of the day in order for him to pay for it.

Would you consider this perjury, seeing as you already told the judge that you paid for it in the form of a money order?

Split up with BF, who now wants shared custody of our dog, which is mine, but CKC registration is in both our names. He scared me with a lawyer and I have been sharing custody with him and there is a draft agreement being written up, but hasn't been signed. Is this unsigned agreement binding? Can I keep the dog and wait for him to take me to court? He doesn't take care of the dog properly and just wants her out of spite towards me and frankly, I can no longer nurse my dog back to health every other week from what he's done to her.

As a lawyer, friends approached me to handle a dispute with their contractor. Now the question is, do I send them a bill? They have asked for one in passing, but it feels weird. The matter became fairly complicated to deal with and therefore the invoice is $1,500. It's more of a moral dilemma at this point. Any thoughts?
