i got a speeding ticket and operating an unisured vehicle ticket a month ago. The police took my license and i have a court date set for tomarrow at 8:30 in a different county. Its about an hour away. I would probably have to go to get my license back if i don't want to get pulled over again, but what would happen if i didn't attend court tomarrow?

Some of my Libertarian friends and I were talking the other night, and conversation turned to the 5th amendment. The question was, suppose somebody developed a harmless drug whose only effect was to make it IMPOSSIBLE to tell a lie for several hours. Anybody taking the drug would be COMPELLED to answer any question put to them honestly. If such a drug were available would you support amending the 5th amendment to allow the courts to compel testimony against yourself? Suppose a judge were assigned to each witness in order to make sure the questioning was done within the framework of the rest of the Constitution. What do you think, good idea or bad? Please don't answer with, "That's technically impossible" or other critiques of the plausibility of the scenario. Use your imagination or else don't bother responding. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing what people have to say.

my ex boss offered me my job back a few weeks after she layed me off. The terms were that she was paying me less and it would have to be cash. I emailed her and refused the job. I was very specific in the email as to why I wasn't accepting. Now unemployment is saying she denys offering to pay me cash. I have proof in my email and her return email. My email says I can't accept cash and her email doesn't deny it. UI has the emails but they are saying it comes down to the cash issue and I won't find out for about a week if I will still get UI. Do you think it is in my favor that they have the emails or do you think the emails are wothless because she doesn't specifically deny saying she offered me cash?

out of curiosity, what will you be charged with if you're over 18, anywhere in general, and are there any extra charges by the law besides getting in trouble at school, if you perform a sexual act at school?
does it matter if it's oral or actual sex, etc etc?
and also, is "road head" (bj while driving) against the law?
and is it considered illegal exposure to flash a dildo in public?

serious answers please?.

Today I was driving down a 2 way road. One side was under construction. There was a strip about 75yards long that was unavailable to drive on. 2 police officers were directing traffic. However, the 1 that was closest to me (supposed to be directing me) was on his cell phone sitting on the back of 1 of the construction trucks. So, I couldn't tell if the other officer (farthest away from me) was waving me to come or stop. I have 20/20 vision- no glasses- I had my eyes checked 4months ago. I could see him fine. But he wasn't clear in his signals. The other side of traffic was stopped. I thought he was waving me to go, so I went. When I was driving by him he yelled at me to "stop!". So I did. He then said "Is your mind in the f*****g right place?"- in a very rude manner. I just looked at him, a little stunned, and didn't say anything. He then said calmly "well, go ahead". I was so confused. Did he want me to stop and I didn't? Should I have said something to him?

Even the old style credit card fraud is retitled I.D fraud or I.D theft, it used to simply be called deception. Is anyone else cynical about this, are we being programmed to "willingly" accept I.D cards?

after we fired him. We told him we were waiting for our loan to close (securing a loan was part of our original contract with him) and then would be in touch regarding his payment. There's a foundation issue - he screwed up and didn't build it to the engineered plans and so we fired him and now have to get the foundation fixed. Anyway, yesterday we decided to pay him the random items on his invoice that were not related to the foundation, as sort of a good faith thing. That went out in the mail yesterday. This morning I get the lien notice. Should I stop payment on the check I sent out? Also, if he cashes that check is there some sort of legal loophole that goes "Aha you accepted payment you have to lift the lien!"
Any advice would be helpful. I'm waiting to hear back from the bank to see if we can bond around it before we do ANYTHING, but I'm going stir crazy.

i think too many people in the united states are on disability simply because they dont want to work! I dont think they should grant disability payments to ppl who are simply depressed all the time. That is not a disability! The best thing for depression is to get up off your *** and DO something! The govment is enabling these ppl to be lazy, and the rest of the taxpayers are paying their way in life! Its disgusting that these ppl are living off of everybody else, simply because they dont want to get up and go to work every day! Am i the only one who feels this way?Does anybody else feel violated by these lazy americans? Why should we pay their way in life? The US government should put restrictions on who can get disability payments.Depression should not be a reason to get paid to sit on your butt and collect money!

There is this man who a few months back found his daughter in possession of a cell phone belonging to my son with messages that were meant for another girl. He however, wanted to make sure my son got blamed, my son is 26 and she is 14 or 15. He couldn't get anything from the law enforcement here in our local town so he went up to the DA and brought up my son's ex girlfriend and she would not say anything against him so he came up with another 16 year old and talked her into filing a complaint against my son saying they had sex. So he was arrested on 3 counts of felony sexual assault on a minor. And then he goes and files a peace bond against my son to stay away from his daughter and then brags around town that if things go his way he will be arrested pretty soon again. This is driving us crazy. Can anyone give me a different opinion as to why this man wants blood over the cell phone and his daughter evern said it was not meant for her when she was questioned by the police. Help Please!

I was watching a show called Gangland on History Channel, and it was talking about all the prison gangs, and how they spread outside, and I realized that the more inmates, the more members, the more violence INSIDE prisons, as well as outside. Are we just recruiting gang members?

I worked at a clothing store for about one month. One of my co-workers claimed she had $25 stolen from her wallet. After making 2 other co-workers show her contents of their coats and purses, and finding nothing, she stopped me in the staff room and made me empty my coat and purse. She even made me check in my brazier!
After she saw that I had no money on me, she then called on the manager to come in to the store. The manager called me into the staff room and fired ME! I swore up and down that I took nothing, and I was still let go. I would like to pursue a complaint to the labour board citing Defamation of Character. Do I have a case?

I picked up a magazine from Kraft and it had this recipe for a layer cake which was made from a layer of ice cream sandwiches, you know the kind with the cookie and the ice cream filling, then a layer of instant pudding mixed with whipped topping, chocolate sauce and crushed oreo cookies, then another layer of ice cream sandwiches, then another layer of instant pudding mixed with whipped topping, chocolate sauce and crushed oreos, then another layer of ice cream sandwiches, then you put whipped topping on the sides and top and wrap it in tinfoil and put it in the freezer until 1/2 hour before you want to serve it, you take it out. Anyway, the question is, after finishing this article in the waiting room of the cardiologist's office I went into immediate cardiac arrest. Who can I sue?

Shows how petty the Muslim governments are doesn't it? Nothing better to do than arrest a teacher of a Christian school where the teddy bear was named, presumably by the children, Mohammed, seems to me that these people don't want any help with anything let alone education. Mind you it was probably a girls school and girls are not allowed an education in Muslim countries.

Here is what I mean by efficiency. Todays society favors efficiency and rationalism over compassion and wisdom. Those who say that it comes down to either using a gun or a taser completely miss the point. Where is the middle ground in the issue? Have we come to the point where we think of things in such extremes?
It seems to me that we have lost something of our own humanity in this debate. We all know that we shouldnt be cruel to others but at the same time we favor using cruelty. Come on people...........50, 000 volts....
