A law maker is trying to pass this law in New England. If you are caught or accused of spanking your child or children, they can be taken away and you could face a hefty jail time. Should the government be allowed to tell us how to raise our kids??

They should do away with spanking only if they want to raise a nation of brats. We need to be able to raise kids as we see fit within limits of course. I agree that spanking in schools made them better places to learn and spanking kids does not do harm.

The government should not be able to an spanking.
This country is supposed to allow freedom to follow religion the way a person wants to, and spanking is part of Christianity and other religions.

No. The U.S. is a prime example. If you can remember back as far as I can, when they used to spank in school, kids were alot better behaved. After the ban on spanking, the kids now run the schools, and everything else for that matter....

I think that banning spanking in schools is bad enough let alone taking the parental right to punish away. Our kids are undisciplined and disrespectful because they know or learn that you can be reported for "abusing" them...poor darlings. They all need a good crack in the pants once in a while. PEACE!

Hell no. How I raise my children is none of the governments damned business. You think Paris Hilton would be the wretched whore that she is now if her daddy took a switch to her backside when she was young? I think not. If my child is acting like he/she needs a whippin', be sure he/she will get one. And if the kids wish to report my wife and I for discipline, let 'em. They'll soon wish they hadn't, being a ward of the state is no picnic.

Another example of out of control government.
They want to get a hold of the kids as soon as they can
(pre- school) to force feed them the Democratic "it takes a village" crap.

If the government is as sorry at raising kids as they are everything else, then I would rather have them raised by a bunch of monkeys.
