so in order to collect total unemployment, does an employee have to get fired? doesn't that mean he/she has to suck at the job? the other alternative would be to get fired for doing something bad, and risking jail time to get unemployment is pretty low. any insight?

This occurs every Sunday... and I just read in a high school level law book that in different cases the Supreme Court has ruled it "unconstitutional for religious activities to take place in public funded places."

After all, does this not violate the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment?

Okay 1 I am not a sick old man.

I just want to know is it considered illegal to have pictures of your girlfriend naked. She gave them to you so they were not like spy pictures and they were intended for you.\

Your gf is 15 16 17
and you are 15 16 17

is this illegal or not?

BTW this is purely curiosity.

Do doctors have an obligation to inform parents of conditions a teen has (pregnancy, AIDS) even if the teen doesn't wish it?

Someone was recently arrested for showing aborted fetus images on his truck, and I while I support his arrest, I'm wondering if this against the law....what about dead bodies, or mutilated genitals....so protest say, war or circumcision. I'm just trying to find out what's the law regarding these things. Does anyone know...

My father in law used to be a land lord. He told me that when he would take tenants to small claims court, if they didn't show up, the case was thrown out and if he still wanted the money, he would have to file with the court again.
I've also been told that if i don't go, the judge will rule in their favor...and it will hit my credit.
So, the main question is, if this does hit my credit, it will be under $500 and we don't have any liens on anything. I own my car, etc. How much will this hurt my credit?
Also, is it possible to ask for their receipts for the ceiling repair and the doors that we didn't damage? And can i ask that they submit their previous tenants damage list (which they took them to court over) so it could be compared to the damages they claim we caused?
And how can we argue 'smell' of the residence upon move out? I cleaned those damn carpets 3 times JUST so they couldn't use this sad excuse of "pet odor" in the home. i have pix of the clean carpet.

My Drivers license was taken in Ohio and suspended. Now, I am left without an ID. If I get a state ID in Ohio, it cancels your drivers license all together and I would have to retake everything at a later point. It's illegal to have a ID and drivers license. Now, since my only ID is gone and I have no passport, I am less of a citizen. I couldn't get into an R rated movie at the age of 22. I couldn't buy a pack of cigarettes at the age of 22. I couldn't even cash my own check! I find it ridiculous they take you license and leave you with no ID. I was supposed to travel and am not even sure if I can get on a plane! Sure my driving privileges are suspended, but my life has been put on hold. I can't even do simple things like the movies anymore. I can't afford to get a passport rushed and even then, it takes more than a month. What am I supposed to do? Is there any room for a class action lawsuit? This needs to be resolved because I can't be the only person in this situation.

I don't understand why a suspect is given the option of taking a lie detector test if they seem suspect.......I mean, shouldn't they have to take one if it seems that they might be guilty of something including holding information that might save someones life? I know that or I've heard that lie detectors are not 100% accurate.....but it looks so bad for the people who won't take one...they look guilty...how about that little 12 year old boy who is missing and his father won't take the test for instance.....so they just let him slide? your opinion please

i live in Md & im trying to collect childsupport. first off i had taken my sons dad off support and forgave his arrearages with the agreement that he pay $100 per month support directly to me.He was doing good for awhile with the exceptions of a few missed payments.Unfortunately i didnt no that that was his plan.He was on probabtion for a yr or 2 and his plan was to keep paying child support for only that time . once he got off of probation he moved to mississippi. Since he moved to Mississippi he hasnt paid a dime which has been over 8 months now) so i reapplyed for childsupport, the thing about it is, is that he makes 2,800 per month now and so i requested a modification he recieves 2,415 per month Va benefits and 400 per month from the state of Md( and he doesnt even live here anymore) does anyone no how i can take this deadbeat down? i cant afford an attorney! is there a way i can write a judge or someone and asks that they garnish his va benefits. Is that even possible?

This is a very big issue and involves a lot of money and spans several years. It also originates in another state where the case would be handled. The lawyer or lawyers would have to be willing to take a percentage of the outcome of the decision. Do you think this is possible?

My husband and I were just awarded $14K in legal fees from an arbitration board of our county's state bar because our family law attorney was completely inept. She never filed for Discovery from his ex wife but charged us for it, lost subpoenas and never filed them, forgot to tell my husband about a crucial court date so he was fined $ thousands in sanctions, ever provided a statement in 8 months, etc. So the arbitration board ruled overwhelmingly in our favor to get all fees paid to her returned. If she doesn't appeal the decision in 30 days it's binding.

She just sent us a backdated bill with ridiculous made up fees totalling more than the $14K, so we think she's going to appeal and fight us into a legal malpractice lawsuit.

My question is, if we win a malpractice lawsuit against her and then she files bankruptcy, will she be exempt from ever returning any of our money or paying what we win from the lawsuit? Or would this be one of those exempt bills she has to pay??

i have about 4 felonies on my record. 1 is 11 years old and the other 3 or almost 7 years old. i know that 2 are for assualt with a deadly weapon, which one was dismissed by the court and the other one was convicted of. another is assualt and i beilieve i was charged with also. lastly the other was criminal terrorist threats and that was dropped with a plea bargan. I am 21 and never got in trouble after that i was 14 years old at the time i was charged and convicted. my records were sealed when i was 19 and i am now trying to become a police officer in the state of california. i am awaiting my live scan and i just wanted to see if anyone knew if those juvenile felonies would still show after being sealed. i had a letter from DOJ show at least one felony banning me from owning a gun prior to having my record sealed.
